I was looking for some ingredients to make a recipe I found on YouTube, Garlic Ginger Noodles... I had been to so many Asian supermarkets, H Mart and others and someone in H Mart told me to try here, sweetest old lady, she helped me look up and down the aisles at H Mart to find a kind of noodle that was flat and ribbony and a thicker soy sauce from the video I showed her, she couldn't find it but she pointed me to Great Wall, she was more helpful and nicer than anyone who worked in H Mart that's for sure... that reminds me, gotta go review H Mart... but I digress, back to Great Wall, they had a similar noodle to what I was lookin for and they had the soy sauce from the video so I was happy.
There was a guy in the aisles doing inventory, he had a netbook or something in his hand, he was the only person I saw and I asked if he worked there, he said "What do you need? I showed him the video and he scurried away saying "come, come" so I followed him and he lead me to the noodles, he said what else? I showed him the soy sauce and he called over one of the workers and asked him, and the worker looked at the video and he scurried off saying "come come" and then I had both my missing items for the dish, the guy with the laptop doing inventory even took the time to explain to me how to use the noodles and the soy sauce, telling me how rich the sauce was and that I only need a little bit. he was cute making sure I didn't mess up my dish, very helpful. Great Wall was a great experience... I've been going to H Mart exclusively for my Asian ingredients but that's changed... Great Wall has joined the chat. I...
Read moreGreat Wall Supermarket has always left a positive impression on my friends and me, especially because of the friendly staff. That’s why we’ve often made the effort to come all the way from Long Island to shop in Flushing. However, during our recent visits, we’ve started to notice a decline in the level of service, particularly at the checkout counters.
In today’s competitive market, the customer experience plays a crucial role. While people can purchase what they need from many places, warm and attentive service truly makes a difference.
Unfortunately, during my visit today, I had a rather disappointing experience at the checkout. The cashier, a middle-aged lady, didn’t speak, but her lack of engagement and indifferent demeanor were quite noticeable. She remained seated and watched as I bagged all of my items myself, without offering assistance, and even seemed to rush me to finish more quickly.
I share this feedback in the hope that the management may take it into consideration and provide additional training to help staff maintain the welcoming and courteous service that once made this...
Read moreI went there today to buy about $100 foods. However there was 2 broken mangoes in a 14 mangoes the box, and I wanted to replace them from a different box. The old guy worker was cursing to my face in front of many people right there while i was checking out at the cashier. He was so rude and evil. I pay the money to buy good fruits but not broken fruits ok. He said its not allow customers to replace broken fruits. How comes? I will never go back to this supermarket, and I will tell all my relatives, friends, family to avoid this supermarket. They only want to sell broken stuff to customers. Even you didn’t pay the food yet, you still can’t choose what you want to buy. Please “Avoid to go this place”. There are plenty of supermarkets out there. No need to choose this bad place. Waste of your time and money. No manner to customers at all. So...
