It’s always a pleasure to compose a review when the “reviewee” has done such an exceptional job in customer service, atmosphere and overall stellar performance. This is what I experienced at the Hotel Indigo Flushing.
I will say that from the start of my arrival at LGA (LaGuardia Airport, NYC) this fairly new property has shown amazing customer service. From the lady, who not only returned my text request quickly to determine my pick-up from LGA, she actually picked me up in the hotel airport exactly on the time she said that she would (AMAZING!). The ride was very short 7-10 minutes with morning traffic. Delivery to the front door entrance of the hotel is on the street level. Due to the extreme cold weather, they have moved the front desk to the second floor (accessible via elevator or stairs).
My check-in was pretty flawless. I met their exceptional front office director Liza Narvios. She is absolutely delightful, knowledgeable and eager to make your stay a memorable one. Her support staff is also superb. Special thanks to Kicky, Krishel, and Marica. They will absolutely take the best of care with you during your stay.
Now to the restaurant call Botenica Bar and Lounge. My experiences there were during breakfast (3-times) and dinner (twice). My morning service was presented by Grace who was very kind and courteous. Always checking on me during my breakfast without overdoing the attention. I ordered the “Eggs My Way” which arrived with bacon, wheat toast and potato cubes. I also had jasmine Tea and Orange Juice (freshly squeezed by the way-delish!). Breakfast was great. I did suggest that they prepare the breakfast potatos differently so that they were not overly deep-fried. To my surprise the very next day, ordering the same thing, they came out perfect! Grace was wonderful. Dinner was another great service - this time with “O”. She recommended the Spinach and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli with Marinara Sauce and Parmesan cheese. OMG - so so good. She brought extra bread so that I could consume the rest of the sauce. The restaurant and lounge have a quiet atmosphere but very well designed. There is even an outdoor deck and patio area (just too cold to enjoy this trip). Business seems a bit slow but hopefully as they emerge from the post Covid-pandemic, things will be better.
Now the room - my room was absolutely wonderful. I have a King Bed standard with a breathtaking view. To my left was the USTA Bille Jean King National Tennis Center and home to the US Open. To the right is Citi Field - home of the New York Mets and the spectacular Manhattan Skyline rolling into LaGuardia Airport. I watched as the planes landed about every 2-3 minutes. I say this because the windows are quite sound proof. I didn’t hear literally anything but the quiet hush of the city below. The room has a Nespresso machine (the best) along with a LG flat screen TV. I love that the TV is pre-programmed to clear any guest passcodes for Netflix, YouTube, and any apps used by the guests. The bathroom was pristine. Shower with plenty of good pressure and hot water. Ice machines are available on the even numbered floors.
I guess if I would have one concern, it would be for the lower entry level where the front desk is located. The poor design did not take into consideration for the New York winter weather. I know that they are aware of this and hopefully they will come up with a solution by the winter of 2023 arrives.
If you are a business traveler or a lover of boutique hotel properties, the Hotel Indigo Flushing is a great place to stay. The hotel sits in the heart of Chinatown Queens. The College Point Blvd. Subway station is a 7-9 minutes walk away. Some of the best in Asian cuisine and desserts are a quick walk away. The Shops at SkyView Mall is only 8-10 minutes walk from the hotel. I realize that this is one of my most detailed reviews but this property and the staff truly deserve it. 5-plus stars!

Read more“Reservation Confirmed” That “confirmed reservation” assumes a few things, one being that the room you paid extra for (Manhattan View) is the room you will be getting, since the “reservation” was “confirmed” 6 weeks in advance.
After 2 days of driving to NYC (flights are expensive), and after the valet attendant told us we need to check in first before getting valet, we exhaustively checked into our room. After paying for the valet, we discovered that our “Manhattan view” consisted of an apartment with a dance studio and the top of a building with construction.
After I call the front desk and inquire about why we clearly didn’t get the Manhattan view and asking to get our room switched, the agent was polite but stated that “All the rooms are full”. “But we reserved this room over a month ago” “Yes but it was through a third party, and we prefer you book straight with us”. (Who does that these days??) “But you confirmed the reservation, and I wanted my kids to see the view and the fireworks.” “Unfortunately we can’t do that since the rooms are full” “We’re paying for 5 nights” After “talking to the manager” they offered to essentially “pay for the valet”, which made up the cost for the extra payment for the view we did not get. Don’t know if the rooms were full for the whole 5 days we stayed but they did not even offer to move us. Don’t know where the mix-up occurred but the staff tried their best.
So we didn’t get the room confirmed to us, 4 of us were cramped in a small room that didn’t have a fridge, and the kids missed something memorable even though the “reservation” was “confirmed”.
Bathroom is tiny and the shower faucet is not ideal with barely any pressure. If you’re going to install a rainfall faucet it needs to be on the ceiling otherwise the water falls out right after leaving the faucet, or the water pressure needs to be stronger. And I don’t know who installs a shower door to open INTO the shower space.
We are close to LaGuardia but I guess they wanted you to really experience the airport since the A/C sounds like a jet engine.
At least they have a Nespresso, but knock-off compostible pods left me wondering if I had the right pods.
I’d give them zero stars but the food at the Tea House is very good. I love burgers and theirs is legit. The garlic wings are phenomenal! The honeycomb latte is also delicious.
Another star goes to the staff who were VERY helpful and tried their best to answer questions, address issues and were VERY attentive. They tried to get the WiFi figured out as the kids couldn’t connect their Switch, but it was a security issue with the WiFi. Also the instructions on which WiFi to connect to were wrong.
If you have issues, just talk to the front desk. The app to ask for the valet to get your car gets confused so just ask the front desk and they are prompt with requests as long as you talk to them. They kept giving us less towels but when we called asking for more, they were prompt with our requests, which me had to make daily. They even had a free sewing kit for missed buttons or safety pins. One of the front desk members gave the kids candy which was nice.
Housekeeping is fine. Towels feel like sandpaper and one of the new towels still had stains on it.
Phenomenal staff doing their best and food at the tea house is the reason for the 2 stars. But ongoing issues will make this place fairly forgettable.
Thought about being a member because maybe that would guarantee the room we wanted, but that’s extra money and I would probably choose Hilton or Marriott after this experience. In all honesty the Hampton Inn in Ohio and rural Kansas were better...
Read moreI have mix feeling about this hotel. I was there for my wedding and we have over 10 rooms for my family and friends . I requested to have mayb just one connecting rooms a month ahead and it was not granted . Fine, there's nothing I can do at that point. We all spread out on mostly different floors . Check in time is supposed to b 3pm but one of room was not ready until 5pm . All my guests traveled from Hawaii and they were exhausted already. Then second day I requested for one of the room to b clean at 10am , ok fine that's close to check out time I can understand they r busy but after we return from the wedding at 10pm it was still not clean , we had to request again and my guest had to stand in the hallway and wait at 10pm just to get the room clean . After check out , I didn't realize until 4pm that I left my engagement ring both weddding band and a gifted gold ring (total of 4 rings)in the room , I left new york already and it will take me 1 hr with traffic to get back to the hotel so I called the front desk to ask if they can check the room . They told me to call back in 10 mins , so I did but then she said another 10 mins and then another 20 mins .. I waited for about an hour and they still couldn't tell me if they have it or not . I got panicked and ask for to speak to a manager on duty , they transferred me but went to voicemail so I called back again and they keep on disconnecting me. After a few times they finally answered again and told me manager was too busy to answer my call .. ok how busy can they b... is this hotel understaff? It's a 10k value rings, they can't even talk to me for few mins ? Finally after an hour of calling and waiting , they told me they didn't have it .I got worried and decided to go to the hotel perhaps I can get cops involved .. but it's about an hour drive so I asked My friend to go over for me first. He was able to get a hold of a manager and requested to investigate this together. He asked for all the Staffs name on duty during the period of time , access to the camera and search through the garbage can . Luckily , the manager corporates and asked a man in duty to help .. they found the cheapest ring among the 4 and said that was the only one found. I told my friend there's no way only 1 could b found if I put them all together , my friend then request if he can go to the garbage room to look through it. Luckily , my friend found all the other 3 rings. I start questioning myself, how can the housekeeper miss it and put it all in garage can? It's 4 rings , how can they miss it? I have no proof if someone really accidentally took it or not but iam still thankful for the man that went through the trash for me and the manager who decided to corporate. I tipped them both 50 dollars . Will I still stay at this hotel? Definitely not . Also notes to the hotel , there's a condom wrapper under the bed in 907. I didn't approach to front desk because when I saw it I was exhausted already . I also left my charger in the room but housekeeping said it's not...
