This hotel is misleading w/ extra expenses, is a bit rude & they have trust issues w/ guests. So don’t get me wrong this hotel is nice for what it is & for its cost, its extremely reasonable. But there are a few things you need to be ready for & to know about ahead of time otherwise you might be surprised at some hidden expenses. When booking this hotel through hotels.com I choose the filters option to find features and amenities that I prefer and find important. Knowing this was in NY in Queens, I knew parking may be tricky. I chose parking as a filter & in doing so this hotel advertises itself with a dedicated parking garage. I chose this hotel & paid about $20 more per night compared to other hotels I was considering because of this alone, upon arrival we call because the hotel does not have the garage attached to it, the person who answers did not speak good english which is fine for where we booked (Chinatown in Flushing) this was expected & understood. My wife went inside to check us in while I waited outside for her also to get the directions on parking. The front desk person advised her where the garage was which was literally around the corner, about 2 seconds away, nice/convenient, A + for this & the front desk person said they validate the parking which is what we expected. I go & pull in the parking garage, they have a booth with a valet station, again no english speaking & after some confusing back & forth they do not give you the option to self park your car. This could have been an issue because we had valuables in the car after going to a birthday party and this wasn't expected and or planned for. I could not take everything to the room but luckily the next day all was still in the car and nothing was messed with or taken, so the valet team was on the up and up thankfully. I took the ticket given to me walked back to the hotel and the front desk person validated the ticket for me nice and simple, we stayed over one night and checked out the next morning. The room was clean and everything was in god working order, except the safe which was not a big deal wince we were only staying overnight. The safe was just loose on top of the closet, it actually worked out nice as we placed it on its side as a end table for one of the bed and used it to charge our phone on. Also the TV had a glitch at one point but it came back on quick with a simple unplug / plug in. The checkout process was a bit odd, we go down to the lobby give our key to the front desk and say checking out no receipt needed, and they say okay hold on one second. They call up to the maid or security to do a room check while we stand there like we had possibly ransacked the room and were going to make a run for it, mind you they took our card when we checked in and held $100 as a deposit already just in case for this reason. BTW which still shows as a pending charge on my credit card statement as of today 6/19/21 and we stayed there on 5/28/21, most holds drop off after 7 days so I don’t know what the deal is with this. So after they see the room is in the same shape it was when we checked in, they allow us to leave the lobby and go on our way to the parking garage to pick up our car. We get there and go to the window I hand the gentleman my validated ticket, and he says $20 please, I say why isn't it validated from the hotel, he says yes. Overnight parking $25, hotel validates $5, you pay $20. So the hotel only validates $5 off the parking with their “dedicated parking garage” and you might as well tack another surprise $20 onto each night you plan to stay at this hotel if you park here. Oh and the garage only accepts cash only and they do not have an ATM on site, luckily we had $20 cash on us which is rare nowadays. As the gentlemen hand me my keys he says tip, even though I felt shaken down already for the $20 by the hotel I gave the $5 because its not his fault the hotel advertising is shady but it was a ballsy way to...

Asiantic Hotel is a great value proposition. It's located at the center of Flushing with walking distance to restaurants, food courts, grocery stores and most importantly the 7 subway train to NYC. This is not a 5 star hotel so be realistic with what you are paying for, which is great value. Few tips below:

Parking - As of 4/1 I paid $20 per night with validated parking ticket in the Prince Street underground parking garage. It's not easy to spot the entrance, but GPS is correct and it is located on street level with a small entrance to go underground. If you do not plan to use your car, you do not need to go there each day like the hotel receptionist suggests, you just go back when you want to leave (make sure to get validation from hotel).

Food options - If you are unsure about the food options, go to the New Century food court where you will have 20+ option available to choose (not sure if the recent fire impacted this location). There is also a grocery place above the food court, you can stock up on water and snacks before going into NYC.

Checkout time - The hotel has a check out of 12PM, but was able to push it to 1PM for free and 2PM for a small cost. You can also leave your luggage there after check out if you are not leaving right away.

I stayed for 2 nights at Asiatic Hotel and honestly, for the price you're paying, it's not bad. Though the room seemed fit for a smaller person, I had a simple, clean room, with a working AC and tv, so I was satisfied. The downside is that there wasn't a microwave or refrigerator, which wasnt too big a deal, because again I was only at the hotel for 2 days And the majority of the time I was out. Also, the hotel is close to many stores and restaurants, including a mall which was max a 10min walk and the subway which was 5mins away (30-40min train ride to time square). If you get hungry or thirsty at night, there are vending machines inside the lobby area and in the morning, breakfast is provided (though I'm not sure if it's extra$) as well. The neighborhood was busy but seemed safe so walking around was no problem. I think my biggest problem with this hotel was the key card. I've never had so much trouble opening a hotel door. I'd have to try inserting card AT LEAST 5 times to get my room door open. The doors don't close automatically either so when you're going out or coming back for the night you have to double check that the door is properly closed. Again the neighborhood seemed safe but it's always good to be cautious. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and I wouldn't mind returning...
