I love the selection here...however, I am consistently disappointed with the prices. Most everything is marked way up. Prices are also wildly different from one location to another. I shop regularly at Whole Foods and sometimes products here are $1-$4 above Whole Foods. That is insane. I only come here to buy a few things when I'm desperate. If they made their prices comparable to other similar stores or even matched Whole Foods price point I would buy ALL my groceries here thereby giving them more of my (and everyone else's) business. It's a pain to haul my groceries back from Manhattan to Astoria and I think they charge you for this convenience which is unfair.
Also, please stop overstocking the chips. Had to stop buying them here because they are nothing but crumbs when I open them at home. You can see how they are just smashed into the shelf. Lastly, they will run a special and then not program it into the system. Gotten home many times to find that I was overcharged. Can't wait for a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods to open up in the...
Read moreDon’t buy from here. They sell rotten overpriced food and clearly don’t store it properly. I bought two bags of frozen green vegetables from different brands yesterday and when I opened them they’re brown, freezer burned, and look like they defrosted, rotted, and then refroze. One of them is past the best by date. This is probably the third time I’ve noticed bad food being sold there - so I’m officially done. The second pic is supposed to be broccoli rabe which usually is bright green- this is just nasty. The other one is clearly bad too but not as turned.
How does a place have rotten FROZEN food? To add salt to the wound I was charged 14 bucks for these (together)- they’re two...
Read moreI used to love this store but I will never shop there again. I bought not one but two spoiled soups there. One from the hot bar, one in their packaged cold food sections. When I realized and tried to bring the soup back for a refund I was laughed at by the cashier when I told him it had spoiled and he said there was no way I could prove I’d bought the soup there despite it being labeled in their container. I told them they might want to check what’s on their shelves as they are selling a spoiled product. He told me this never happens and I must just not like the soup. If you want overpay for spoiled food and rude cashiers then go for it. But they’ve just lost a...
