I made an appointment for a blow dry for 4pm. I arrived on time and was told by the person behind the desk that one of the people would be doing my hair (Person A). She and the other person (Person B) there were clearly in the middle of other appointments (not close to being done). Person A that was supposed to be doing my hair came to me and said something - it was unclear - but I understood it to be that the Person B would be doing my hair instead. (the person behind the desk had left by then) I sat down and waited for about 15 mins - no sign of them being done and the person at the desk came back and another person came in for a 4pm appointment with Person A - so I've clearly been double booked.

I just asked the person behind the desk what was going on and how long it was going to take. She looked confused and said give me a minute. The other two people (Persons A and B) started yelling at each other (don't give me your clients, don't double book etc) and then started yelling at me saying I'm complaining - I literally just asked how long it was going to be and wasn't complaining just was wondering if I'm double booked because I had somewhere to be. I quickly started looking for other salons in the area - there is one about a 4 minute walk away- I called and they were able to take me last minute It's slightly more expensive but it's truly worth it to escape such an unprofessional place. The environment - even before the yelling - was so uncomfortable. I cannot recommend this place - avoid if you can. The lady at the front desk was nice but just looked like she couldn't do much about the two...

I booked a massage and mani-pedi. As someone who hates making phone calls, I loved that there was an option to book through text. I got an answer and appointment scheduled within an hour of me texting.

The massage was amazing, just the right amount of pressure and Vivian made sure to target the areas of my body that needed it the most. The combination of warm oil and hot stones felt amazing. I appreciated that the massage also included the front of my legs, which is usually not the case in my experience in other spas. The massage ended with a little face/head massage, which was also a great bonus. Vivian's timer went off before she was completely done and she did not rush to finish. She even gave me some advice on how to stretch to relax tight muscles.

The mani-pedi was also great. I'm not someone very experienced with getting my nails done so I cannot speak on the technique but I'm overall satisfied with Sindi's work. My nails look beautiful.

Overall, I loved this place and the vibe. It seems that a lot of customers are regulars and known by the staff. Prices for the massages and nails are reasonable, especially for the area. The staff was friendly and welcoming and offered me water and coffee throughout my visit. I will definitely come back...

I was downtown walking to the subway to go home after an interview. As I was walking up Chamber St, I noticed a few model types turning into a store. When I reached that location I saw that it was HairBeca. Since my longtime hairstylist had moved out of town months ago and I was overdue for a haircut, I decided to go in. A lovely stylist named Jasmine squeezed me in and glad I was that she did. I got the best haircut and blowout I have had in a long time! When I checked out, a terrific woman named Estee suggested I return to try other services they offer. I did return there several days later to have a massage with their masseuse Vivian. It was sublime!!! I left there feeling like a new person. I have since been back for a keratine treatment from Jasmine. This was the first time I have ever had one. My hair looks so smooth & silky from it. This little gem of a salon is worth the trip for those of us who live uptown. For those men and women living close by, lucky you for having this multi-service piece of paradise in your neighborhood! I almost forgot to mention that the prices are quite...

My biggest pet peeve with a salon is when they don’t tell you that they aren’t good at a particular service and proceed to do it. I went in asking only to even a bob I cut myself the evening prior (pic below in black top) I left with a mushroom haircut. I specifically asked to keep the length in the front and cut more in the back. I left with 2 inches off in the front. I reiterated to her not to cut the front as she was cutting to which she responded ā€œit’s just thinning to blend there’s no length being removedā€ I saw length removed as soon as she touched the front with shears. I’m so depressed!!!! I would have much preferred to have kept my choppy uneven bob. the worst part is that it’s still uneven. I don’t like to give people who perform services a hard time but not worth 57 plus tip for a dry cut and including the money I now need to buy a wig or something until this grows because this cut has left me insecure! Some people should only do trims, wash, and blow dry hair. Everyone should know their limits when it comes to something as personal as a woman’s hair.

Rushed, rough, and painful job. I waited 20 mins after my 5pm appointment time because they had squeezed in an unscheduled client before me, despite requesting that I be on time. The stylist seemed hurried to close out, even though we ended half an hour before closing time. The rough brushing and pulling hurt my scalp for a few days after, and the stylist did not seem to adjust after I expressed discomfort. It was as if I were a mannequin. I think the haircut is decent, although she did not fully deliver on the layered hairstyle I wanted (see photo). She was also stubborn and rude when I asked for modifications. It looks good, but it wasn't what was requested. I believe her name is Valentina. HairBeca seems to be a decent place if you are looking for a generic hair treatment - and have hardy scalp. I do Not recommend HairBeca if you want a style that looks thoughtful and good for you.
