So I debated for a few months on leaving this review or not. After discussing my treatments at Hazel’s clinic with numerous other professional estheticians as well as an esthetics nurse and my dermatologist I think it’s only fair I share my experience.
I initially visited Hazel’s clinic to address some minor hyperpigmentation I was dealing with so I booked a chemical peel. On the day of the appointment I arrived at my scheduled time but it took Hazel almost 30 mins (or more) to take me back to the treatment room. When I first met her she was unfriendly and impersonal. Her demeanor made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
She briefly looked over my skin and asked my skin concerns. She made sure to point out the “bags” under my eyes and recommend filler for them even though I never asked and I clearly stated on the intake form I wasn’t interested in other services. She then proceeded to decide on the spot that I need to do microneedling prior to the chemical peel. She suggested all this be done on the same day one after another. THIS IS SO WRONG!
Any reputable skin care professional would not suggest this. It can cause further hyperpigmentation as well as chemical burn and scarring! As I’m sitting in her chair literally crying she is just scraping at my skin with the microneedling tool. No numbing cream, no compassion just a robot causing pain. Then to top it off after the microneedling she applies the chemical peel which obviously burns like hell! This should not have been done under and circumstances! Luckily I am blessed with good skin and her ignorance didn’t cause any long term damage.
I trusted her as a licensed and registered professional nurse but nothing about her practice is professional. After the treatment she didn’t really say much or give me aftercare directions she just took her gloves off and left the room. Her assistant did answer what questions I had but I was in a state of shock after all the pain and standoffishness that I just wanted to leave. The assistant gave me a little piece of paper with aftercare directions. The receptionist was kind enough to share her chemical peel experience with me as I was checking out which I was grateful for.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you care about your skin and you want a professional and compassionate experience go elsewhere. If I had known that microneedling and chemical peels should not be done together I would have never gone through with it but again I trusted her because she’s a “professional” but honestly I just think she’s...
Read moreBEWARE of Hazel and stay away from this place at all costs. This woman will scam you and sleep well at night like a sociopath with no conscience. As many other customers have stated in their reviews, this person is money hungry and to add insult to injury, very rude/cold to customers. I had botox done here and it never took. I've since learned that diluted/fake botox is a thing, and that is what is happening here. I've had this done tons of other times before I moved to NYC and that never happened. She was the first person I saw after moving here and the whole experience was terrible. She cares about one thing: exploiting you for your money. Please do yourself a favor and go to a place that is reputable where they will treat you will high quality products and human decency, because you will NOT get there here. And before Hazel comments with 'our records indicate you are not a customer of ours' - she is not an honest person and this is what she comments on unsavory reviews for her bad business practices. smh she should be so ashamed but again, probably has no conscience.
Replying to the 'response from the owner': Hello! Thank you for your reply. If you had read more carefully, you might have seen that I stated that 'Hazel will scam you and sleep well at night like a sociopath' - i.e., as a sociopath would (this is called a comparison). Not a diagnosis, but rather my personal opinion and observation. It's odd that you think it is surprising that I went as far as commenting on how she administers Botox. A remark such as that should not be a surprise, as I presume this is a significant part of her business. Your reply, as all of the replies on the negative Google reviews for Hazel, only further confirms the rude & unprofessional behavior of this business. It is no surprise to see so many negative reviews...
Read moreAll of the filler I paid for ended above my lip not in the pink/body of my lip at all. If the results weren't bad enough, my experience in trying to resolve the issue was a complete nightmare. After being told by Hazel to go to another injector and saying she was "ok" that I was not happy with my lips, I was then given the run around and told they would correct it. No logical person would continue to get procedures from someone who stated they were ok with the patient being unhappy. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
FOLLOW UP: Since Hazel decided to reply and attempt to gaslight me 2+ years after this instance I have decided to update my review. I did not have an issue previously, your service GAVE me the issue with the misplaced filler. You told me to go elsewhere and told me you did not care if I was unhappy well before you offered begrudgingly for me to come back. Why would I trust you to provide safe & trustworthy service after telling me you were fine with me being unhappy. Your indications that I threatened you for a refund are also not welcomed and not accurate. I encourage you to reflect on your business and personal practices over the course of the holiday season and try to grow instead of gaslighting patients who you left mangled.
Edited to add: At no point in my exchanges with Hazel or her staff did I ever mention writing a "nasty review" because that's not what this is, this is an HONEST review of a horrible service that left me feeling disfigured and disrespected.
The fact that this provider has replied to my HONEST review of my traumatic experience 2 years after the fact, blatantly LYING and misrepresenting the circumstances of my experience (Gaslighting 101) should tell you ALL you need to know about the morals behind this woman and the "business"...
