The food is great but the service was so bad i won’t be returning. We walked in at 6:30 on a Sunday and restaurant was empty but the manager gave us a stressed out face saying they were sooo booked starting in half an hour but he could squeeze us in at a small table. Lo and behold a bunch of people cancelled and we were fine. Even though the restaurant was never full it somehow took 45 minutes for the hummus to come out. We had to ask twice and the waiter looked confused. Our entrees took so long one member of our party had to leave and take hers to go before getting to eat. They were inattentive and ridiculously slow with the food, meanwhile the manager found time to sip from an espresso martini he had at the bar. Given how egregiously long it took to get our food (they apologized multiple times) I expected the bill to perhaps be edited to reflect the wait but they dropped off the full bill unceremoniously. I’d maybe order takeout but I would...

Safe to say I won’t be returning. As an added bonus, the cocktail I ordered on the recommendation of the server tasted solely of very very cheap tequila — to the point where I didn’t even drink it past one sip. I left feeling genuinely confused about the...
Read moreA spectacular mid-eastern restaurant has arrived to the UES. The eponymous chef/owner Rafael is a perfectionist as demonstrated by his culinary masterpieces. We started with the excellent Fig and Beet salad and the best Falafel we ever had. Our mains were grilled-to -perfection Dorado and an amazing, and new to us, Corn Shnitzel. The desserts were freshly conjured and incredibly delicious: Tahini Brulee and Custard tart. The final act was from a computerized cappuccino machine that ground the beans and created perfect froth with only the slightest human input. And as you would expect in this type of establishment, the service...
