If there were 10 STARS, Emily would get them!!! What a perfect day we had thanks to this amazing woman! A short story... I wanted to bring my wife to the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, but did not know it would be a sold out show so quickly. We waited until a few days before the show was to end to begin our ticket search and were extremely disappointed to find we could not get tickets. Because this was a mothers day gift, I searched the internet hoping to find someone selling their tickets but could not find any. I am not sure how, but I came across Heart of the Art NYC and saw they were connected in some fashion to the show at the museum. I sent in a request for tickets, and Emily responded back to me almost immediately and offered me a choice of her last two available tours for this sold out show. I could not believe the luck! Not only was I able to score three tickets, but I was lucky enough to combine it with a private showing! Of course I still didn't know what to expect, and was just glad to have been able to find tickets. When we arrived at the show and met Emily, our concerns immediately faded! Emily met us with such happiness and enthusiasm, we felt like we have known her for years. We were already happy and still didn't step foot into the exhibit! Once Emily led us inside the exhibit, things got even better! She walked us to almost every item in the show, filled our minds with the history, the story of Frida, and interacted with us in such a wonderful way, We talked, laughed, felt happiness and sadness with the life of Frida as Emily offered a pretty detailed description of the artwork, the clothing, the family life, the love and the pain that made up this woman. My mistake of not shopping for tickets early ended up being one of the best mistakes I ever made. This show would have been good, and interesting, without having a private tour, however, booking a tour with Emily at Heart of the Art NYC made this exhibit absolutely incredible for the three of us (and it made me a bit of a hero in my wife's eyes, lol). Thank you Emily!!! You are fantastic at...
Read moreWe had the great privilege of touring three different art museums with Emily – the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick Madison, and Museum of Modern Art.
As an art enthusiast, I truly enjoy touring great museums with a knowledgeable guide. We could not have made a better choice than Emily. She and I communicated quite extensively before the trip, so that she could get a good idea of what our tastes were, and how to prioritize our time in these museums. Emily was very proactive in these communications, even sending me a few articles of interest before our trip began.
For each of our three museum visits, Emily was waiting for us with tickets and a smile, ready to go. She did a wonderful job navigating our group through each museum, despite our varied interests and ages. Emily focused on the highlights of the museum, as well as any special requests we had made. But she was also invaluable in pointing out pieces that we would’ve otherwise overlooked. This is especially true at the Museum of Modern Art, where Emily somehow managed to get me to appreciate a more modern painting done in the 1960s that I would’ve completely ignored if left on my own.
In summary, I encourage you to book Emily for an art tour. She will meet you wherever you are - if you know nothing about art, or if you’ve studied it quite a bit. She will greatly enhance your time and help you navigate these large collections more efficiently. We could not have been happier with the tours we...
Read moreThree generations together in NYC for the weekend. After visiting the Louvre a year a ago with a fantastic private tour, I decided that we had to do the same at the Met. Emily was the perfect choice and the best way to make sure we made the most of our limited time (2hours). We started in the classical sculpture (a fave of my 12yo). Worked our way thru some African art and other ancients. Went to the Islamic art section which was a real treat. Then thru musical instruments. Moved on to Washington Crossing the Delaware. A must for my 13yo and loved hearing about the massive landscapes. Ended at the Temple of Dendur. Having Emily guide us thru was the best. She shared great information on the collection and art history broadly. Taking this private tour helped the five of us keep a great focus and create conversation that stayed throughout our weekend. Money meaningfully spent. I did a fair amount of research before choosing a tour guide. I chose Emily for her sophisticated approach. I’m glad I did. Not only did she teach us a lot, she listened when my kids needed to move on. I wasn’t looking for jokes and apps, I wanted a got a great morning learning about a fabulous collection from an engaged and smart guide. Thank you, Emily! I wouldn’t hesitate to send...
