These are the reasons why I will NEVER GO BACK to Acacia Spa again: On both my visits, the Reception/Waiting Area had an odd smell which I cannot describe. Luckily, the Private rooms did not smell. I didn't have to wait too long in the Waiting Area before I was escorted to my Private Room. When you are lead to a Private Room, I would expect it's because my Masseuse is ready for me but I just lied there for 10 whole minutes before anyone came to acknowledge me! (I was wearing my watch so I know) In the hallway, the employees talk very loudly amongst themselves so from time to time, my "relaxing" time would be interrupted. Someone even came into my Private Room during my massage so again, that interrupted my "relaxing" time. My masseuse ran out of lotion so for the last 10-15 mins, it was a dry skin-on-skin massage which was not very enjoyable. Perhaps for the very reason described in Point #4, she cut my massage short by 7 mins (I looked at my watch when she started the massage so I know). After I paid, the Receptionist assumed I didn't speak Mandarin and said to my Masseuse "I charged her $60 because it was her first visit." Firstly, it wasn't my first visit and how would Acacia Spa even know, given that my first visit had a different Receptionist and it was for a different Service! Secondly, since when is the Fee based on number of visits?! If anything, first visits are cheaper to entice customers to return!
Some important Background Info: I read amazing reviews when they were located at 140 Fulton St. When I got to that location, I saw a sign advising that they had moved to 108 Greenwich St, so proceeded to walk there, not realizing it was the place where I had previously got a Swedish Massage (which I would rate 3/10). Given that I was there already, that's when I decided I would give them a second chance with a Foot Massage (which I would rate 4/10).
The place is run by a group of unprofessionals who don't have a clue about "Service" and what a One Hour Foot Massage for $60 should entail. Just because you have moved to a nicer location does not mean you can AUTOMATICALLY charge higher prices - your Service should...
Read moreSo I've been going to this Spa for some years now. I usually ask for Grace or Coco. Just recently I was told by the receptionist that if I call to make an appointment with one of these two, I have to book at least 45 minutes. They say I can just walk in and have anyone but Grace or Coco do my massage for 30 minutes. I cannot believe they would do such a thing. I have an hour lunch break I can't always do 45 minutes. I ask for Grace or Coco and I tipped them very very well. I would tip $15.00 to $20.00 for a half hour massage and now they took that away from those girls by changing the policy. I hardly want to believe that it's the masseuse who came up with this change. In fact one of the receptionist told me that they get a percentage of the price for massages so they would rather do a longer massage to get a bigger cut. I can't believe that the receptionist told me this. I am very disappointed with this change in Policy and very disturbed with the whole situation. I do not appreciate being told that I have to do a 45 minutes massage if I want Grace or Coco. This whole situation makes me very upset that I am forced to stop going to this spa for my massage. I know that they will lose a very good customer and a good tipper but I refused to set foot in their spa again. I asked to speak with the Owner on two occasions and never heard from anyone. It's appalling that they forced their policy on me. Those two should leave that spa. They know who I am and I hardly believe they would like to lose me as a customer. The problem is they do not speak English or their English is limited. Oh well, I just have to find another spa of which there are many!!
So the Owner replied to my concerns and says that its Policy! When you're in the business of customer service you never use the word Policy. You try to make the customer happy but instead the owner was cold and calculated in...
Read moreFor starters I just want to make a point. This place could really be a great place. The masseuses are wonderful. However, the front desk workers have a very bad attitude. on the phone and in person. Very combative extremely and argumentative making your experience from the beginning miserable. My wife and I has been patronizing this place for six years I think I’ve seen three different management and this is the worst. For some reason they seems to blame it on the owner for their unnecessary attitude.
I was there January 2, 2022 at 12p getting a massage and I want to go for a half an hour longer and she quoted a price of $45 extra which seem to be way overpriced considering it was only $65 for a whole hour. My wife have experienced the same thing when making an appointment and she decided to not go there ever again and we had bought gift certificates for a couples massage like always.
As it stands I will use the last one we have. I will never ever go there again or recommend anyone. This is so unnecessary when you’re supposed to be going somewhere to be relaxed and you are confronted with that kind of behavior and energy.
You just confrimed everything I was saying. Your response had nothing to do with my main concern. The constant combative behavior!!! FYI, I had no problem with wearing a mask... I am fully vaccinated and require everyone to be safe and secured... How dare you try to shift this off to some anti mask situation. Your management has continues to show horrible customer service to clients over and over again checkout other reviews on this page. I have no problem with going elsewhere...
Just either give me a refund on my certificate or I do my last treament with none of your office management drama. Also, how does one paid 45 or $50 for a half hour massage that cost $65 dollars an hour.????? Do the math... And this is at the...
