I visited them in 2019 when I first moved to New York from Dubai. My first racist experience in NYC was at this waxing center. I was new to NYC and new to the United States. I was still figuring out the subway and I had informed the receptionist that I would be 5-10 mins late. She kept hounding me over the phone to the point where she was bullying me. I apologized and said that I am in the train because the call kept dropping. But instead of showing any understanding, she was unbelievably rude to me. I showed up at the center and was apologetic but she continued to treat me like I was dirt just because I was a few minutes late. I asked what her name is and that is when she yelled at me and told me to “get out” in front of all the other customers. And she kept saying it in a louder voice. I couldn’t move from my seat because I was in so much shock. I felt humiliated and singled out. And then the person who was supposed to do my waxing (she is a highly recommended waxing specialist) came out and told me to get out as well. They were both ganging up on me and i couldn’t, for the life of me, understand why I was being treated this way. I started crying and I asked the receptionist if it is because I’m brown, and that is when she went completely 180 on me and started talking to me nicely and said “no nothing like that. My best friend is Pakistani” and she proceeded to hug me. This sudden change in mood just got me more terrified and scared of her and it was even more terrifying getting into the room with the same waxing lady who was yelling at me to get out, for my Brazilian wax appointment. I left the place in tears, feeling terribly alone at the time, questioning my life choices. This traumatized me so much that it has taken me 5 years to write this review. Natasha is a wizard with wax - how is it possible that she can get you in and out the door in 5 minutes for a Brazilian, even when you haven’t been in 3 months and it looks like a jungle down there?
