A family member booked the hotel direct after we needed to organize something quickly as we were arriving at short notice in NY. ||||I will be honest I potentially might not have booked if I had read the all reviews before, but if you scratch at the surface of those who leave negative reviews some are pretty petty! ||||And the other places we looked at were a bit further out and we needed two rooms and many were booked up as we wanted two rooms separate but many were really expensive . All fees service tax was included in the price we paid and we got a big discount for staying a week.||We booked the Queen premier with balcony and king Superior with kitchenette and bath tub.||||||There are two buildings opposite each other that are both 3232 , we arrived to checkin at one with the restaurant and bar in the foyer (we never actually checked this out during our stay) but was asked to checked in over the road which was much smaller space. We had to leave a deposit on each room, which we were expecting as we had seen the review on line and it was clearly on our reservation, this was charged to your card as a pending charge during our stay. This was $175 each room.||||||We were then taken back over road to the original larger building. ||All though I'd asked if it was possible to be on same floor of my family we were on different floors, however this wasn't an issue at all on arrival and to be honest was more likely because we booked such short notice.||||||My room was on the 16th floor, in the room was plenty of storage hanging space and modern bathroom with walked shower.||I had a large balcony over looking the front of 32 E street. ||My room had a coffee maker plenty coffee pods, teas and two waters that you can replace for free during your stay just ask at the front desk.||You also had two Cokes two red bulls and Pringles and nuts that there is a charge for from your room deposit . My family had these and it's was about $15 dollars deducted so not expensive. ||The fridge was large enough to fit milk, juice and yogurts and fruit which I bought from Trader Joes supermarket about a 8 min walk ( 2 blocks) into 3rd avenue. ||Room was super clean. Bedding immaculate, no hairs ! And the bed was very very comfortable. Decor is dark, the walls paint work might not be pristine but it's matt paint and this marks, but I walked in my white socks on arrival and they were clean! The flooring it wood laminate.||||Could it do with a freshen up? .. Maybe||Was it horrendous,? Absolutely not . ||Was the room dirty? Definitely not. ||Was the bathroom clean Yes||Shower was powerful and plenty of hot water, and I had a constant supply of fresh clean towels daily.||||Sink/basin did have a crack but in no way did this effect. Toilet didn't constantly run! ||||The only gripe I have is that the room faces an office block and there is no privacy unless you close the curtains and as they are black out curtains it's means the room is dark till you get dressed. This would be resolved if you had muslin net drapes up at the windows.||||Ac. There is hot air vents in bathroom. As it was spring the days were warm but morning a little chilly, but the room was comfortable for me . I could easily turn the dial in the bathroom fan for immediate warm air. And the heater in the room seemed easy to work for me , you turn to heat, and when you want warm air you just turn to vent and it blows warm air ! ||Which I put on early evening. || TV in room had plenty of channels if you wanted. It went off one day as there was outage on the block. But I only caught up late on a night and early morning to check news and weather. ||||My room was in front of the elevator and I'm a light sleeper, but I slept and wasn't disturbed during the week.||||There was only 3 rooms on my floor (16th) and the only noise I heard was from the one family who came mid week with a small child and to be honest the toddler was not a problem and it didn't effect my sleep.at all except one morning. When In fact it was the father who was rather unpleasant to his wife who I could hear whilst they were waiting to go down in the lift, and if she's reading this, I'd leave him as if any man spoke to me like that id leave him!||||||I did report to the front desk that he was unpleasant and I understand someone else also reported him, and they spoke to him and I never heard another peep from him. ||||My family had a car during our stay, and you can park at a parking lot for a deal with the hotel, just get your ticket stamped at the front desk and you get a reduced daily rate. It was approx $23 a day.||||||Location ||This is safe neighborhood also, and I felt safe walking unlike some of the areas around times square!||It was SOOO central ||Empire state 5 mins away, 15 min walk to grand Central station & the summit, madison park , Flatiron Building ( although covered in scaffolding currently !) Infact nothing seemed to far away 5th avenue is a block away and Madison avenue the end of the road. ||||Subway 1 min walk away, bakery next door nice but not cheap, and lots and lots of really nice coffee and pastries stores near for breakfast. Plus trader joes supermarket. $17 for 6 yogurts 4 bananas, a lime ( for my water!) 1 litre fresh juice, sparkling water and grapes 2 pints of milk.||||My families room although had a kitchen there wasn't a balcony and with hindsight they said they should of got the same room as me which was the queen Superior with balcony.,but this would be great for family. ||It was fully stocked with utensils etc...||||Again it was clean, comfortable bed and they had a bathtub with over bath shower. ||My bathroom was more modern but theirs was fully functional.||||Same issue with privacy as me but we were hardly in the rooms except to sleep and have a breakfast snacks.||||If you wanted your room cleaned, you just asked at the desk and if you wanted your bedding changed same again. People have stated staff were rude .. no they weren't. I just reckon you never took the time to chat to them. Were they like hotel reception staff maybe not, but to be honest this felt more like serviced apartments so I wasn't expecting the Hilton or Hyatt style service.||||There was also staff on the foyer when we got in late on a night. I agree a pass to get to your floor in the lift I can see the benefit of this. ||But, I also never felt like my belongings were going to be stolen either but I also never use hotel safes ! Anywhere in the world !! ||||So overall, ||is this a designer boutique hotel, no||Does it feel more like serviced apartments yes,||Could it do with a lick of paint .. probably ||Is it dirty .. certainly not our rooms.||Is ultra modern with city scape views ..||Is it near time square! No thank goodness that places feels like the pits!||Did we feel safe walking back on an evening YES!||Is it central YES!||Are the rooms small.i didn't think so for a couple||People moaning about the smell of weed/cannabis....welcome to New York! Go To Barcelona or Amsterdam, it's the same! It's legal. It's just one of those things now I have come to the conclusion! ||||||Room for improvement, get some privacy curtains up and maybe paint the walls lighter or not use matt paint! in main room or brighter lights for when curtains are closed..maybe a chair or two to sit outside on more for summer ! ||||||Would I stay here again, I have no...
Read moreIf you're looking to stay at this hotel, DON'T. They're very scandalous, not honest and untrustworthy. This was not my first time staying at the hotel but it was my last. It was nice to began with but my last trip was horrible because of them and also my experience.
I've stayed at this hotel 4 to 5 times since last year, since I had bad experiences with other hotels however this hotel seem to catch my eye, It was very nice at first with great staff members, good prices and very clean. However; I always booked my rooms through expedia, this time I decided not too. I booked straight through the Hotel 32 website and paid for my reservation through there.
On March 31st, I booked a full superior room for April 4th to April 6th for $479.43 with taxes included. Upon arriving to the hotel, you're not allowed to check in for this specific room until 1:30 PM. Me and my family knew about this already so we decided to drop our luggage off and shop around until it was time to check in. After shopping for the day, we arrived back to the hotel around 12PM and was allowed to check in around 12:30 PM. We paid a deposit of $175.00 as usual and the everyday fee of about $32.00, or so. Upon arriving upstairs to our room, It was NOT the room we booked online. Instead of getting a full superior; we were given a studio room, and the hotel did not let us know that the room was sold out and didn't even think about telling us or giving us a reimbursement of a partial refund. However, it was okay.. except my brother had NO where to sleep. We called downstairs to see if we could get a sofa bed or roll in bed and the staff declined that we couldn't get one because of how small the room is BUT was that our fault that the room we originally ordered was sold out?! I mean cmon, we should've been made noticed of this before we even arrived to the hotel! Anyways, further more on my brother decided to make a sleeping palette onto the floor.
Me and my family decided to go out for rest of the night, and got some very bad news and had a family emergency and had to return back home which would interrupt our trip and stay here at Hotel 32. We rushed back as soon as possible to our room, upon getting upstairs off the elevator; the hallway was filled with SMOKE and so was our room. Our stove and oven had came on by itself; and we were even made noticed of. IF we would've never said anything to the staff about this, our room could've probably caught on fire and we would've might of lost our luggage and items we brought with us here. Luckily, the staff member was able to turn the stove off; me and my family returned downstairs to let the staff know that we would also be checking out the very next day on April 5th; and would not be able to complete our stay here. The staff agreed that it was alright and that our deposit of $175.00 would come back onto our card within 3 to 5 business days.
The next morning of us getting ready to check back out, the stove comes back on and our room is filled with smoke; it is EXTREMELY hot guys and the staff did not do anything about it or came to check back up on me or my family to see if we were ok. I'm not lying at all, it was crazy. I've never experienced anything like this staying at any of the previous hotels, I've been in before coming to this one.
Once me and my family got back home, around April 8th to April 10th; we kept checking back our account to see if the deposit from the hotel arrived back and it did not. We checked through our transactions to only see that we were charged $54.44 from Hotel 32 on April 10th; EVEN THOUGH we been checked out from the hotel on April 5th. When we called to see why we were charged, they accused us of taking things off the counter when we didn't touch anything and looked over the room to make sure everything wasn't missing and in the right place. They told us they took the $54.44 out of our deposit and that the deposit was also applied back which it was not. And even IF, they took the charge out of our deposit we were atleast supposed to get $120 back...
Read moreI was super nervous to stay here with my boyfriend. The hotel is advertised as a four so hotel so of course I booked it, but after reading lots of bad reviews I was second guessing my decision. Although the some of the reviews were unsettling I decided to see it through anyway and I’m glad I did .
Hotel 3232 is indeed a four-star hotel with four-star service. The staff really make this hotel what it is. Johanna, the Guest Relations Manager helped me with any concerns I had. When I checked in with Sandra (she was there at all day) she was so helpful. She helped me with find parking and took care of my bags while I went to brunch with my boyfriend . She is funny and just a genuine person who enjoys her job. It was nice to receive that kind of positive energy.
The hotel is clean. A++ on cleanliness. After lots of bottomless Sangria and Mimosas, unfortunately i had to use the bathroom before our room was ready. I ended using the bathroom in the lobby. I was so pleased with how sanitary the lobby bathroom was. I don’t know why I was so surprised that it was clean, maybe because the lobby is so small assumed they forgot about the bathroom from time to time. I’m glad I was wrong , it gave me hope for what to expect from my room when I finally checked in. When we finally did check into the room it was just as clean as the lobby. The cleaning crew did a lovely job. We were surprised to find out that we got a free upgraded room. I guess they upgraded us because we nice and respectful, because we sure didn’t ask for it. It was a happy discovery. It made our weekend in the Manhattan extra special.
No one is talking about how comfortable the bed is . I didn’t think anything was more comfortable than the bed I have at home, but here it is. Treat yourself to a room with a king size bed!
Treat yourself to a kitchenette too! We had a stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator. They even had plates, bowls , and eating utensils for us. They also had a really clean microwave and toaster, pots and pans. It was fully stocked for at least 4 place settings. I suggest getting a room with a kitchen. If you’re going to be there for more than a couple days you can stock the fridge and cut down on some of your expenses by cooking your own meals.
We didn’t go to their speakeasy/sushi restaurant instead we went to another local speakeasy. However, if you do wish to go to their speakeasy please make an reservation in advance. It fills up fast. We did however, get a peek of their lobby bar before it opened. We were both impressed with the set up. We missed out on drinking there because we had so many other things to do. Still, it was nice to know we didn’t have to leave the hotel to get some food or a drink.
I read reviews stating that the walls were thin.. I didn’t hear anything. I could hear someone in the next room, but only when I left my room and stood in front of their door. Our room was so peaceful and quiet. We had a pretty decent size tv and we didn’t have any problems with hearing it and we didn’t hear the Tvs in the other rooms.
Yes, the hotel is divided into two parts. North tower and south tower. They are directly across the street from each other. Reviews make it seem like it’s a big deal but it really isn’t a big deal. I think it’s a bigger deal to some people because it’s not something that they prepare you for when you book the hotel. They really should inform people about it, but they don’t. I would chalk that up to some of the reasons they get bad reviews.
They have room service! We didn’t check it out, but it’s worth saying if you are a material girl who likes room service . I know I do.
Five star experience in a four star hotel. We had a great stay here, my boyfriend and I agree that we would definitely...
