I’ve noticed this place open up recently and was very excited to try their Italian roasted coffee. Came on a Saturday morning around 11 - the place seemed to be filling up but not peak hours like on a weekday morning. There aren’t many coffee shops around the block so it was a great place to attract all demographics. The interior is classy and I love the gold and marble finish with coffee preparation area as a donut shape. We ordered two drip coffees so I thought it would be the fastest take out item on the menu as we were rushing to the station. After waiting for five minutes I started to notice how unorganized the staff were- the manager looking individual was raising her voice to the other staff who were mixing up the orders which emitted some aggressive energy. The staff who were serving the people who stayed had no idea which drink was for which table and kept coming back to the manager for confirmation. I strongly believe there needs to be coordination amongst the staff and definitely more training. Roles and responsibilities seemed to be less transparent. Also they should really get rid of tracking orders through paper receipts if they were mixing up orders. I was surprised to end up waiting 20-25 min on the simple drip coffee. The manager mixed up our order with another order who had the same name. If they cant get the orders right, suggest switching to numbers…
After this event, I was finally excited to try the coffee. Not sure if it was because it was made in such a rush, it tasted very bitter with no aroma - after letting it breathe I finally started to taste the true flavor of the coffee.
I hope the owner and manager improves its operations and training so there will be more...
Read morePreferential treatment given to Italian tourists. Two people on staff with no line and 100% of their energy was focused on said tourists while I waited and waited for them to take my order. I ended up leaving. Owner is chronically online and belittles his customers within Google Reviews, getting worked up over anything below a 4 star rating. If you like being spoken down to, by all means visit Cinico. Get your cappuccino served with a side of shade.
edit* A response to the owner
I don't think you've actually learned anything from our interaction. The fact that you took this review as a chance to try to teach me a lesson about patience is telling. You had 2 people on staff and instead of simply taking my order, you chose to focus 100% of your energy on a single order and pandering to a tourist. Do not talk to me about patience. Ask yourself about how you are managing the experience of your customers. I suppose the other reviews about your stuck up attitude carries some weight. And don't worry, there's plenty of coffee shops in the area. You want some constructive feedback? Get off your high horse.
edit* It might benefit you to spend more time managing your cafe and less time arguing with someone on Google Reviews. But if it makes you feel better, I concede. You've won. Your coffee is too...
Read moreIt was one of those quintessential New York Fridays—warm, golden, and full of promise. The kind of day that calls for a slow stroll, unhurried thoughts, and an iced latte in hand. I found myself at Cinico Coffee Company, tucked along Madison Avenue, curious to see what the space had to offer.
The interior was clean and modern, with a quiet kind of confidence—nothing showy, just a well-lit, thoughtfully composed spot to catch your breath. I kept it simple: an iced latte paired with their salmon croissant.
The latte was as expected—smooth, refreshing, and well-pulled. The croissant, too, was satisfying, though not particularly memorable. In truth, Cinico didn’t surprise me in any dramatic way. It’s not a destination café, but more of a dependable corner to lean into when the city’s pace calls for a moment of stillness.
That said, what made the visit pleasant—and worth a mention—was the service. Riccardo, who was behind the counter, was warm, present, and genuinely kind. In a city that sometimes forgets the importance of a smile, Riccardo’s hospitality stood out.
All in all, Cinico Coffee Company is a solid café. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing to fault either. A clean four-star experience—reliable, familiar, and made better by the people who...
