I enjoyed my experience at the school, substantially. I attended numerous schools outside of ESC (at the time) and this one of the best schools I had the pleasure of going to. I attended schools like UB aka University of Buffalo where I saw and experienced bullying and racism and York College where there was an insane amount of rude and unhelpful staff coupled with not so friendly attendees. At BCC where I recently did an e-permit because I am doing a post-bac degree a second time around, and it resembled much of both UB and York. This school on the other-hand was a breath of fresh-air. Although it may not be as academically challenging as I may want, it was a great starting point for someone doing and completing college for the first time. People were helpful and friendly, and most importantly mature. The only issue I recall having was finalizing my degree with Costello (I believe) it was quite the trip, but it worked out at the end. I should give a shout-out to Malongze for being such an amazing mentor through the course of my BA. She is genuinely such an inspiration! Thanks Malongze and another professor (he was a really nice old man) he retired a few years later. You are...
Read moreJust be careful with the advisors/mentors. My mentor isn’t bad but my friend has a mentor that is completely useless. She showed up to their meeting almost 30 mins late and only came because my friend had to remind her about it. And on top of that she wasn’t listening to a word he was saying, he’s going for a concentration in computer science yet the lady had no idea about what classes he needed to take (Did not come prepared). Kept pushing him to take an educational class instead of his very first intro to computer programming class after he stated he could only take one class a semester. Mind you this guy already has 2 degrees and yet she’s pushing the Gen Ed’s. He can’t take any of the other computer science courses without taking this intro to programming course. Very very useless indeed. Check your own transcripts and curriculums, don’t rely on the...
Read moreI am a recent graduate of SUNY Empire State University, and I must commend the institution for its exceptional quality. The faculty and staff demonstrate a genuine commitment to the success of their students, providing invaluable support throughout the academic journey. While I encountered some initial challenges with my first two advisors in terms of responsiveness and assistance, the transition to Mrs. Buzick proved to be transformative. Her outstanding guidance and support were instrumental in shaping my academic experience over the course of three years.
I am now preparing to pursue a graduate degree in school counseling, a milestone that would not have been possible without the foundation laid by SUNY Empire State University. I wholeheartedly recommend this institution, particularly for individuals with...
