I’ve been a loyal customer for years, coming here to buy my Christmas tree since childhood. Tonight, I drove all the way from New Jersey to Brooklyn with my husband to pick out our tree, and unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing.
As soon as we arrived, the workers began eyeing my husband suspiciously. He is Hispanic, and I am Italian, so I can’t help but feel this was a case of racial profiling. We selected our tree, and the vibe just felt off. My husband went into the store to withdraw cash so we could tip the man who was helping us tie the tree to the roof of our car. I told the workers he was getting money from the ATM and would be right back. When he returned a moment later, the same workers loudly remarked, “Did anyone order food?” My husband didn’t have any bags that could even remotely be mistaken for food, and he was only gone for a brief moment. There were no other customers in sight, so there’s no way the workers didn’t remember who he was.
This was a disgraceful and racially charged experience. It’s heartbreaking to see such blatant disrespect, especially from a place I’ve supported for so long. I won’t...
Read moreThey raised the prices. A little upset because I drove 35 mins to get a more realistic and fair price. Guess we should have gone north towards Harriman State Park… oh well. Last year I had stellar service from Joey. Truly will never forget buying the tree from him. He made me feel great about what I was getting, acted swiftly but personal and made me feel safe driving the long way home on the BQE. 5 stars for Joey! 4 this year as I didn’t like the price and the older gents were a bit gruff. The young man who helped me this year was very nice. I hope that he doesn’t end up as gruff as the older guys there. Not sure we will come back next year if prices are going to be the same as in our hood. The redeeming factor that they have a lot of trees. However finding a Balsam in a 7-8 foot range was slim pickings. Plenty of Fraiser Furs thou… Also the woman in the shop wasn’t wearing a mask and neither were two shoppers in the shop. They do have free masks at the door though....

She also does flowers for Easter and when she's not walking around smoking weed she just sits there doing nothing and then she gets annoyed and nasty when you ask for a price. While we were there for easter flowers she flipped out on a young woman for touching an item for sale and started yelling and screaming for no reason. I feel so bad for the young gentleman with the beard he is always very respectful and polite to everyone, he was apologizing to everyone for her childish outburst, the older tall gentleman who ive never seen there also was nice and very funny. I give those two gentlemen alot of credit for working with a person like her. Ive been shopping there for many years and this woman is always so nasty and rude to customers. I dont understand how she is still employed. If not for the respectful gentleman i dont think i would...
