I have purchased several items from John Hardy. I was very happy with the bracelets. But the ring was a different story. I really do like the ring. The problem is that the ring does not come in half sizes. So when I bought the ring, they told me they can add these little dot things to the inside of the ring to make it fit better. So it had to be sent out for the work twice which took around two months or so. I did not mind the wait time, but the ring does not feel comfortable with those little dots hitting the finger especially if you are driving. This was a ring that I wanted to wear all the time. But now I just wear it for special occasions. So it is disappointing. Also the ring does feel loose. I was told that if I add more dots and the ring becomes too small, then there is nothing they can do about it. So my warning to anyone buying a ring, don't buy it if they have to use dots to make the ring fit. It is best if the ring comes in half sizes.

A representative of John Hardy reached out to me after seeing my earlier post where I was not happy with my ring. The representative offered different solutions to the problem. As it turns out, I fit in a smaller size ring so they gladly swapped the two rings. If you do go for a ring where it does not come in half sizes, please ask for other options rather than getting little dots. They may be able to customize the ring for you to fit well. What a great experience I had at this store! My wife has been a John Hardy fan for probably 20 years. And I've purchased I don't know how many pieces. But this was my first time at a branded store. It's the most unique jewelry store I've ever been in - starting with Jacqueline.

I went in looking for a particular piece. Jaqueline didn't have it in the store. So she went through catalogs to find it. She came back with the news it was discontinued, but there was a very similar updated version she could get.

The store decor is perfect for Hardy style. It's a little "rough" with the wall textures, cabinetry, etc - a perfect contrast to the pieces themselves. There are shadow boxes on the wall here and there that show entire ensembles. I've never seen that before . . . gives you an idea how to combine pieces and how they will look.

As I was leaving, there were two boxes by the front door I hadn't seen. They had craftsman tools - hammer, pliers, and other items. I asked - these pieces are actually hammered out by hand? Jacqueline said they were. Then she proceeded to demonstrate how the famous braided bracelet was made. I had no idea. She also told me the second floor is a workshop and that they gave demonstrations on the whole process.
