I hate to give a bad review to this place because since it opened, I’ve been there once to twice a week. The experience has been great… until today. I guess this weekend they implemented the “Leave your bags at the front” which I understand for SHOPPING bags since Target is right upstairs, but I came in with a backpack which I bring every week to pack my groceries with. It stays on my back until I purchase my items and check out. It’s no different than a woman walking in with a purse. I have everything important in it. So I walk in, security stops me, tells me I need to leave my backpack, I tell him I need my bag to pack my groceries, I buy heavy stuff like water there. I even told him he could look in my bag before and after and he just gave me an attitude for no reason. Also what’s the point of cameras everywhere if no one’s using them?! So I leave my bag with him. I go in, and there’s 3 other people with backpacks on!?!? I then buy my groceries only to have to cart them all the way to the entrance to pack them, instead of at check out like I always do, with the entrance open and the cold coming in. Funny thing is he didn’t even check my receipt to see if I payed for any of it. This whole thing turned me off to going back if this is how it’s going to be. I’ll def be posting to let others know this is how it is now. I also have no problem with giving Aldi my money. UPDATE I haven't been back in since. I walk by and see they stopped the bag checking, I'm assuming many people complained. It left a bad experience for me and now thats what I think of when I see a Lidl unfortunately. I gladly went back to Aldi...
Read moreI have been to many Lidl locations and always had a great shopping experience—until my recent visit to the Bronx Terminal Market Lidl. The store itself was fine, but as I was leaving with a full cart—10 heavy bags and four children with me—I was stopped by security and told I could not take the cart out of the store unless I left my state ID with them.
This policy is completely unacceptable for several reasons: Privacy & Safety Concerns: My state ID has my full government name and home address. In today’s world, there is no reason why a security guard should be handling sensitive personal information just so customers can bring groceries to their cars. Practicality Issues: I was told I either had to carry all my bags at once with four children in tow or give up my ID, load my car, then return to retrieve it. This is not only unsafe and unrealistic for families but also for elderly or disabled customers. Inconsistency Across Locations: Other Lidl stores—and virtually every other supermarket—allow customers to take carts to designated cart-return areas in the parking lot. Expecting people to surrender ID or carry heavy bags across long distances is unreasonable, especially in a multi-level shopping complex where taxis and public transportation are on lower levels.
I even witnessed an elderly woman with a cane told the same thing—she was expected to load her taxi and then come back upstairs to get her ID. That is simply not acceptable.
Lidl needs to revisit and change this policy immediately. Customers deserve safety, privacy, and basic accommodation...
Read moreVery rude and entitled employee. Probably do not want to be there , hate her job and customer even more. I have seen better . I almost got into an argument with that employée. Asking me if was talking to her ,with an attitude, having her earphones on , I was feeling like there was something personal. But it looks she was treating all the customers the same way.I had to apologize quick before she escalate the situation. I do not want to draw any attention on me . I apologized knowing that she was having a terrible attitude and could create a Drama. I am a customer . I believe they just opened, I don't know what is going on there. Maybe a toxic place . The security guys are cool and respectful maybe because I am a man and they know I am older than them. Anyway! I do not know what put her in that situation , mood, almost despising people or looking them down or whoever recruited her. They need to check that. They will lose a lot of customers. It still a job and they getting paid for it. She was very rude...
