This place is a neighborhood gem! My Mexican boyfriend (now husband) started bringing me here before we even lived in this area and nearly 2 decades later, we are still shopping here. It has the freshest meat and produce, including hard-to-find herbs like papalo and pipicha, and THE BEST queso Oaxaca! They also carry all the favorite Mexican candies. Not to mention, it's always clean, and the staff is super nice to this gringa, always greeting me with friendly smiles and helpful service. I ❤️ shopping here! Some Mexican comidas you cannot find anywhere else in NYC; some that you can, but are fresher and more reliably available here. Several varieties of field corn for masa sold; dried chiles fresh, cheap and in abundance; fresh, properly-raised poultry; real mexican chorizo and longaniza; butcher’s manteca; nopales with the needles trimmed for your convenience (!).
