This is going to be a long one but I need to start this review off by saying DO NOT GO TO THE SALON. When I went to the salon earlier this week, I asked for human hair, Boho braids, in more of a pick and drop style. The person who did my hair, not only did not know what she was doing, but was instructed multiple times to only use the human hair that I brought in for the braids AND the leave out pieces. She installed the braids incorrectly and it looked a mess. Then I also told her not to use a ton of gel because I have a sensitive scalp and she continuously used a lot of of gel which resulted in my hair being super itchy even a week later. The entire style took so long to do not because the style is hard but because the girl was moving very slowly. She took a lot of breaks and at the end she didn’t even cut off the pieces that were sticking out. The worst part is that she left my real hair out of many braids and didn’t braid all the way to the end which resulted in my real hair sticking out of most braids. The slowness and the extreme lack of attention to detail makes me even more upset as the days go on. I texted the owner about the issue and she did let me know that I could come in the next day to get my hair fixed. Keep in mind that I left the braiding shop at 11 PM, had to go all the way back to Brooklyn, and then I had to come all the way back from Brooklyn the following day after work just to get these braids touched up. The owner was nice however even though she touched up my braids and fixed some of the issues at the previous braider made l, my real hair was still sticking out of a lot of the braids meaning that the issue wasn’t even fully solved. All in all this entire experience has been a huge headache. I really wish I did not go there. Save your money and your time because these people are awful. The braid shop was small, cramped and unhygienic . I’m from New York and I’m no stranger to African braiding shops. I’ve been going to them for over 15 years now and ultimately this experience has to be in the top for the worst—save yourself. The women there not only wasted my time and energy but they also wasted my hair and money. Go to Hady’s hair salon or somewhere else but DO NOT go to Little Senegal Braiding.

DO NOT GO HERE She told me to come at 4:30 for my hair appointment I waited till 9:00 she still didn’t service me. She cut the human hair I spent hundreds of dollars on then said it’s too late go to our other shop. I stayed at the other shop overnight till 11 in the morning and was given boho braids rather than the style I asked for. You’ll see a picture of what I asked for and what I got. DO NOT COME HERE

I went in as a walk in for a cornrow ponytail. Adji did a great job and it took her around 3.5 hours. Very good customer service and she was very nice.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE – Completely Unprofessional and Disrespectful

I cannot emphasize enough how terrible my experience was.

I contacted the stylist the night before asked specifically about human hair bundles, and the stylist said yes but then used synthetic hair. She could’ve just said no ,in text, from the start instead of misleading me. She told me to come in at 8 AM. While I was getting ready, she texted me around 9 AM saying she'd be a “little late.” I showed up at 9, she still wasn’t there. I came back at 10 and waited until 11 AM. When she finally arrived, she told me to wait for another stylist in the shop to finish with their client. Once that stylist finished, instead of starting on my hair like I was told, she went on break (which is understandable). But then another girl walked in asking for the same style I was getting, and even though everyone there knew I had been waiting, that stylist rushed back from break and started working on the new girl’s hair instead of mine. Like literally ran outside to get her. That new client came in around 4 PM and was completely done by 8 PM. Meanwhile, I had been sitting there since the morning, and the only reason my hair even got started around 4:30 PM was because I was visibly upset. Then The stylist kept taking long, unnecessary breaks, and I didn’t finish until 11 PM. I clearly asked for a bob-length braid style, about 1–2 inches longer than chin-length, and emphasized it multiple times. Instead, she braided all the way down to below my bra strap. When I asked her to trim it to what I originally asked for, she got irritated, sighed heavily, and barely trimmed any of it. She refused to cut it to the actual length I requested. On top of all this, they were openly mocking another client who refused to pay because of poor service. And believe me their service was HORRIBLE!!! They laughed, ganged up on her, and made comments loud enough for everyone to hear.

This was an absolutely awful experience from start to finish. The lack of professionalism, disrespect, and disregard for clients’ time is shocking. Do not go here. Save your time,...

I found this place on Tik Tok, texted the number, and got an immediate appointment for one week out. I asked for the price and she never confirmed. All the recent comments in her Tik Tok videos and that of influencers who went recently, all quoted $200 for smedium boho knotless braids.

The day before the appointment, I texted her to confirm and she did. I asked for the price again, since I legitimately needed to know how much cash to bring. She said $240. I pushed back, noting the discrepancy, and she said the price went up. She then lowered to $220 and I said fine.

I show up to the 9:30 Monday appointment at 9:22. The shop is closed. I call her and she doesn’t pick up. Every few minutes, someone new comes. By 10:15, there are FIVE people standing outside her door for appointment at the same time.

I commuted TWO HOURS, had a set appointment AND confirmed, and that still wasn’t enough for her to arrive on time and respect the process.

I told her I would leave if she can’t start by 10:30. She said she’d be there. I left right at 10:30 and am submitting this review from the chair of a different stylist.

This was disappointing and disrespectful. We as a people must do better. You can’t treat people like this.

This is also a reminder not trust any blind rec from random influencers online. Most of us found this place from Tik Tok. Not everything is...
