Loveday31 — Local services in New York

Very small vintage store. Almost entirely if not entirely women’s clothing and seems to be curated well enough to attract a wide variety of tastes but nothing stunning. The accessories are either from a local artist or the generic mass produced sunglasses anywhere sells. Things are priced rather interestingly. There are some cool mid century vintage pieces that are reasonably priced and then other pieces that are overpriced considering they’re sold as is, with visible spots and wear. I understand we’re dealing with old garments but at the end of the day it’s still $75 for a stained shirt somebody wore 50 years ago. There’s a Versace blazer from the 90s for $125 (an absolute steal) but then these tag less synthetic dresses and tops for $50 when a new version from any of those clothing stores on Steinway would be less and literally the same. Aside from a few goodies sprinkled in expect the clothes to look like a Kohls in 2007 but for $30-60. If you’re not in Astoria it’s not worth coming out here for this but if you’re in the area it wouldn’t hurt to see if new things come in. I have seen some cute things here before so it...

You can't help but love Loveday31! I always liked the idea of shunning fast fashion and shopping used and local. However, it wasn't until I was introduced to Loveday31 that it even seemed possible. There is such a lovely, curated selection of funky and classic pieces, and I can tell that business is good because every time I go there are nearly all new items. There is also gorgeous, eclectic jewelry and a cute selection of locally made masks. If you are going to show some small business love, start here! Easily one of the best vintage shops I’ve been into. Ivonna is the incredible and delightfully eccentric and knowledgeable owner, who has no problem telling you what works and what doesn’t. Unlike most vintage shops you aren’t pressured on anything, and you rest easy knowing that nobody is telling you a lie to make you buy. Ivonna has excellent vintage from affordable to designer and all the accessories your heart could desire. Cannot wait...
