I started going to Beauty House at the suggestion of my husband, who knows the owner, Natalia, because she used to cut his hair when she worked for a barber in the neighborhood. When she opened her own place he followed her because she's a wonderful barber and stylist.
He was totally correct, she's fabulous -- also extremely friendly, good-natured, welcoming, and has an extremely gentle touch. I've had about 4 haircuts and colorings, and a couple of manicures, too, all of which have been super. She even got me to stop biting my nails by giving me my first gel manicure. It worked!
The staff who works with her are all marvelous as well, particularly Yentl, who specializes in blow-outs, and is a miracle worker with a hair dryer and brush. Natalie, herself, is a miracle worker with cut and color -- I get many compliments on my hair from friends and neighbors.
And yes, the price is reasonable for Park Slope, the salon is very clean, Natalie offers tea, coffee, and cold water with lemon -- in short, it's like a vacation to spend a couple of hours there, getting pampered. I couldn't recommend it...
Read moreExcellent service and staff. Went for my first cut since March of 2020, and I was the only person in the salon other than my stylist, Natalie. She was so sweet and gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in years. She wore a mask and did just fine even though I was wearing two masks (I work in a hospital, so I wanted to feel extra safe for both of us). I have very wavy hair and prefer a maintenance-free 'do. Natalie listened and delivered. We were both so excited, we took photos right away. I'll be sending my boyfriend here to fix his quarantine cuts by yours truly and wish the salon all the best during this reopening. Prices are really fair too, especially for Park Slope....

But they charged me another $50 per child to blow dry, and then more for a condition “treatment” which they didn’t ask me if we wanted. They also charged me more for my kids’ long hair, but didn’t say anything about the extra charge until it was time to pay up. Unbelievable.
