2 stars removed for the lack of respect and 1 Star removed for outrageous price, especially considering the amount of time it took and the outcome

I came for a structure UV manicure with gel polish and a basic pedicure. I shared with them Im from out of state and last got my nails done at home a month ago so am due for a fill, she told me it wasn’t as common but that she was able to do it and would have to charge more for a new set, ok no problem!

To start, the tech that did my pedicure was abnormally aggressive while working on my feet. When I went to do my hands with another technician, the same tech that did my pedicure basically stood over my technicians shoulder for no less than 10 minutes staring at me and speaking in Chinese, very obviously talking about me to my face. This is wildly unprofessional and outright disrespectful. Ideally this specific employee will be advised to be more considerate of people in the future and to at least be more discrete when speaking about customers as they sit for a service that’s literally over 2 hours long.

Cost is not typically something I would remove a star for because I respect the right of businesses to set what they feel is fair for their work. However, I paid over 140$ to sit for hours with terrible customer service and a technician that wasn’t as experienced as she’d initially implied making the process take much longer than expected and the results not what I asked for. She spent an insane amount of time filing down each of my nails and shortened them significantly more than I asked for. I understand this is a service that isn’t as commonly done at this salon (insane considering this is a busy nail salon in the middle of Brooklyn one of the busiest cities in the entire country 🙄). Ideally in the future, they’ll be more upfront and honest about services they’re not as experienced with so customers can choose to spend that amount of time/money somewhere that will actually be worth it!

Not only did I have to wait an extra 30 minutes, the lady who did my manicure insisted that I get hard gel instead of soft gel. And told me I would have to come back the next day, even though I had an appointment. She stated that the manicure would be 70 dollars, when it says on the board soft gel manicures are 55 dollars. Not to mention she didn't even have the color that I wanted, and just did another random color that they had. She made up a price and charged me 84 dollars for a soft gel manicure. And, of course I gave a pretty good tip, considering them gossiping about me while doing my nails. She asked me to tip more- the AUDACITY! It's always bad vibes when I come here. I'm not sure if it's subtle racism or what. I will never come back! Customers deserve to be treated...

She did a great job doing my eyebrows but she got wax in my hair! Then after spending 10 minutes standing in the mirror using oil to pull it out myself I asked for a discount because I had JUST washed my hair with the intention of fixing it up only minutes later to go out. She literally stood in front of me and told me that she DIDN’T get wax in my hair. I was like what do you mean? You just watched me pull it out for 10 minute in front of you.
