Noir Nails — Local services in New York

My experience with Noir Nails was ... interesting. Firstly, i received the worst pedicure I've ever had in my life to the point where i told her to not even finish. she scrubbed my feet for less than a minute, the water was ice cold she had to warm up batches of hot water to make it warm. Its also located in a weird space, i felt so uncomfortable. I paid $30 for 20 mins of service. Also she didn't take off all my gel polish (see attached photo)

the ambiance was beautiful. I arrived for my soak off and I'm guessing I was speaking to the owner, Crystal. she was very polite. She introduced me to the lady that would be doing my nails and she didn't even say a simple "Hi" back. Her energy wasn't welcoming at all. The person who did my nails is Ann-Marie. Although she wasn't welcoming and showed me zero customer service, she was actually on the phone majority of the service. My nails did come out to my liking (see picture attached) ... Side Note: My entire service was in the dark, the lights weren't turned on until my attempted pedicure service. It was also VERY hot in the salon as well.

I see the potential in this place, but maybe i came on a bad day? I would give it another try because the work was good. But I'd most likely book with the owner next time.

First and foremost let me begin by saying they will not and do not greet you when you walk in instead they all awkwardly stare at you. The owner is RUDE and unprofessional. She thought she was going to talk to me as if I was her employee and not a paying customer... Iam big on supporting black owned establishment however customer service is EVERYTHING to me! And I don’t care whose Behind the brand if that isn’t up to par that is enough for me to never return. I was extremely uncomfortable During my visit. while doing someones nails I observed a nail Tech removed her surgical mask on several different occasions! This place is literally a tiny hole in the wall and was packed to capacity. During the middle of a pandemic there was NO social distancing, They over book all the time. Their work stations are filthy. They DO NOT sanitize equipment after each customer. Type of place that’ll give you nail fungus, I will no longer be returning to this mediocre nail salon. Oh and Ann-marie is a mute she never talks! She will do your nails for an entire 45 mins and not say one thing to you but IF she does you wont understand anyway she’s always mumbling however she does decent nails!!!!!!!! APPROACH WITH...

I have been coming to the owner of this salon for almost 4 years now and she never disappoints. The salon is swanky, clean and I must say the ladies deal with a great deal of different personalities. If clients are not complaining or writing reviews about the cost for quality services, or attempting to bring company or yelling through their speaker phone when it clearly says use a head piece while on the phone and getting your nails done. I honestly don’t know how the owner of the salon or the employees deal!!! When booking an appointment the policy for this salon could Not be any clearer. So I tip my hat to the ladies and praise them for their hard work!!!! Clients for future reference, stop hiding behind keyboards and assert yourself before walking out of any establishment that you have paid for services, if you are Not satisfied.
