El Rancho Dominicano — Restaurant in New York

I drove 6hrs and finally made it to this location, excited about the food. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! The food was dry, unflavored, cold and the people were cold as well!! I literally wasted all of my money. My kids are great eaters, they ate nothing and I had to go elsewhere to get food after paying for this meal. I purchased rice and beans with beef stew and yuca with fried pork. I almost lost a tooth trying to eat the pork alone.

There was another Spanish family there, they served them really well and made their food in the kitchen. Mine was pulled from the food left out all day. On my way out I was trying to order the same thing the Spanish family had, the server was pissed. And kept telling me what they had was expensive and a special order. Refusing to place the order. I said well that’s said because you already charged me for soup. She offered giving me the soup that has been left out all day. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE! Worst place everrrrrr!!!!! Oh and music so loud we all startled several times. The other guest fork went flying in the air from her being shocked as well. Simply horrible. Lastly, the sweet plantains takes like a rubber...

It’s bad enough that the food here is mediocre at best, and that’s me being nice. But to be rude and nasty on top of that? Can you say yuck? I ordered from here ONCE over a year ago and never ordered again. They had the audacity to send me boiled potatoes and carrots with no type of seasoning as my side of “vegetables” with my red snapper that was clearly not good quality. That being said, I needed an order of white rice which I think is pretty fool proof and they were the only option available late night. After 15 minutes of the order not being confirmed, I tried calling them. I had to call 6 times before getting through. Instead of allowing me to even speak a complete sentence, the lady said were closed and hung up the phone. With music loud as hell in the background. AND still accepting orders from people instead of changing their hours. Uber couldn’t even contact them, get it...

I recently moved to the neighborhood in December ‘21. My first time here they deliberately ignored me though it was midday and the music wasn’t as loud. Now here we are a month later , I had a craving and when I called one of the either overworked or downright rude women passed me on to another women after legit repeating my order outloud in Spanish (The joy of being a native NYer is that you learn Spanish all through out your public school experience) to which I ordered and was told 15 minutes with an attitude as if I was the problem. When I arrived 20-25 mins later I was told 5 more minutes. I said no problem and went to the grocery store. Came back and had to wait another 15 minutes while translating to a “manager” that his busy kitchen has nothing to do with his lying and rude women behind the counter.
