So so experience and results for an expensive price. I am someone who loves to splurge on beauty. When you spend $600 (prior to tip) on highlights and a cut you expect to love the results and I unfortunately was very disappointed with the result and salon experience.
My colorist who I have been loyal to for years was transitioning salons and I desperately needed highlights and a cut to hold me over till I could book with her again so I decided to try Nunzio Saviano Salon. I regret this choice.
Salon Experience (Rate 2/5) â The salon has a great location on Madison with a beautiful view of the Avenue from inside. The salon did not run-on time. They called me to tell me to come 15 mins later because the client before me was late. Since everything was pushed back, I feel that cut into the time for styling with my haircut. Since I wasnât happy with the color, I didnât even care to have it styled properly but if that is something that is important to you beware if they are running late. If a client is late, shouldnât that cut into the late clientâs time, not the next clientâs time? Lastly, the salon itself on the interior is not as polished and organized as you would expect for a Madison Avenue Salon.
Color with Felicia (Rate 1/5) â I came in with fairly grown out roots so Felicia had a good starting base to work with to highlight. I showed her pictures of what I was looking for and felt like I got a different result. The final look was way too solid for my taste and lacked dimension. She didnât leverage my natural base as a low light. I especially did not like the result around the hairline â it was way too solid and when I pull my hair back into a ponytail I do not like the way it looks at all. Throughout the highlighting process she stepped away at a minimum of 3 times to tend to other clients. Since the highlighting process was start stop start stop, the foils needed to be removed in 3 different waves. At the end, I expressed I did not like the final result and she offered to have me come back in which I appreciated. However, I will not be taking her up on this offer.

I went in for a color and a cut as soon as the color was in my hair I started hearing the back and forth of her hair is âtoo curlyâ and the âare you going to cut it curlyâ. When Felicia was done with my hair it for detangled and then I was put in Andrews chair where the âletâs embarrass herâ party began to happen. There were so many back and forth a taking about me while I was literally in the room and then finally Andrew said to me âI canât cut this type of hair Iâm going to bring someone who can tryâ he brought over the women who wash my hair and began trying to defuse my curly hair that had no product in. I was as this point being already looked at and I felt embarrassed that they made such a huge commotion about my hair. I simply said Iâm fine please just let me leave they then still had the audacity to charge me for a service they had not provided fully I paid to not make a big deal and walked away with the last bit of pride I had left in me.    Read moreMy experience here did not meet my expectations compared to other Manhattan salons. The cut was good but nothing special, and I had to stand for more than half of the time! And I wasn't pampered the way most salons do. They did not even so much as offer me some water when I arrived.

I was comparing you to other free services from Manhattan salons, by apprentices, not paid services. I always throw a lot of business to salons that give me a great experience.
I have never negatively reviewed another salon online before b/c I had never had such a surprising and disappointing experience.
