Read moreThis was a terrible haircut. I’m severely disappointed. I spent months growing my hair out, and told the barber that I wanted to keep the length. She didn’t listen. At multiple points I told her I thought she was cutting it too short. She argued with me and didn’t listen. And now my hair — which I had really enjoyed having long — is awful and mushroom shaped, with skin practically showing on the sides and back. I was enjoying the longer hair so much, and she just refused to listen to me say I wanted to keep it. It was the first time in my life I’ve ever wanted to get up out of a barber chair and leave halfway through — but the damage was done, so I figured she could at least do an ok job of giving me the haircut she wanted to give me (rather than the one I wanted). And it was, in fact, “ok” — the same quality I’d get at a $25 barber upstairs somewhere.
The only good point is that she only charged me for the 23 minute haircut she provided rather than the 45 minute haircut I booked. But there’s a reason it only took 23 minutes rather than 45 — she gave me a haircut entirely different from what I wanted. If she’d listened at all, it would have taken longer. Maybe she was in a hurry?
I’m not sure what else there is to say. I could have had the same haircut at many other places for half the cost. I came here because I wanted something different from a number-4-on-the-sides. But that’s what I got.
If you like your hair style, do not go here — they will not listen, and will change it whether you like it or not.
Edit: The more I look at this haircut, the more I think I need to correct something I said above. I would not have gotten this haircut at a place charging $25. I’d have gotten a better one. At a $25 place they’d have avoided this stupid mushroom look — which I think is the result of the barber wanting to cut the back and sides the one way she knows how, while leaving the top at least a little long. Guys, it looks really stupid. I’m literally going to have to go to my local barber to get this fixed. So it’s not even that they didn’t give me a haircut worth the cost, and didn’t listen, and cut off months of growth, and all the rest. They gave me a BAD version of the haircut you can get from your...
Read moreI had looked around for the top rated barbershops and found this one with about 5 stars and 168 reviews. Arrived about 10min before my appointment and with about 8 months worth of hair and first thing I mentioned was that I was still growing out my hair and only wanted to cut the sides and I usually style my hair with a middle part and in the long run hope to be able to pull it back. I'll admit I didn't give the best explanation of what I wanted but I tried to look up the video of the haircut I wanted and to my surprise there wasn't any signal. I gave a description of what I wanted and ended up with an undercut. Kept quiet at first since in my mind I'm thinking "well it's a 5 star barbershop, it'll probably come out ok right?" I guess not since by the end of the haircut I definitely did not like the haircut I received. I explained that I would go to the first floor to get screenshots of the video and would come back, and that I wouldn't mind paying the price of an extra haircut as long as I get a similar haircut to what was in the video. So I went up, came back with the screenshots and got my hair cut. I was told that it would come out a bit shorter to get the hairstyle in the picture. I agreed and the next thing I know I have very, very significantly shorter hair and at this point I'm just sad. I don't show it but as I'm explained the reason why it's short I just can't help but nod and agree. I end up with a short haircut and I'm told I can style it different when I only asked for a the haircut in the picture, a middle part... I end up with either slicked back hair, a side part, or a sad looking middle part. I now have no other options but to wear a hat everytime I go in public. To make matters worst I went on my birthday hoping to get an awesome haircut, "5 stars right?" I know this review is against the majority but I just wanted to share my experience here. I'm sure they give great haircuts to other people but maybe today was just my unlucky day. Needless to say this is my first and last time...
