I had been looking forward to attending Julieta Venega’s concert for weeks. I could not wait to see her life.
However, when I got to the Palladium Times Square well before the concert started, the line to access the venue went around the block. There were no security staff to be seen anywhere and we had to wait for 30 minutes to get into the venue. As a result, by the time we reached our seats (well beyond 8:20 PM) the concert had already started. We missed the first part!
Also, at the entrance I was made to drop in a trash can a perfectly and fully wrapped muffin that I happened to carry in my bag (see picture attached). To my big surprise, mojitos and pizza were sold in the venue, but I was not allowed to keep a muffin I was not even going to eat. I appreciate that you enforce your policies so strictly. However, I wonder whether your SECURITY AND SAFETY POLICY is enforced with the same seriousness.
People were entering the venue up until 9PM because of the delays and lack of organization to manage access the venue. As a result, during the first hour or so of the concert, people were being ushered to their seats - often several times because the staff doing this job did not know how to do it. This disturbed the rest of the people attending the concert whose view was constantly blocked by people trying to get to their seats. Not to speak of people constantly going up and down the stairs leading to the “dance floor/standing area” to reach the bar conveniently improvised next to the stairs.
I paid a lot of money to enjoy a concert and, instead, I was constantly disturbed by people looking for their seats and going to buy drinks. But the worst part was having to worry about my personal safety since the stairs leading from the “seat area” to the “dance floor area” were constantly blocked by people who were not meant to be there! This blocked our view and compromised the safety and security of all the people attending the concert (I am attaching pictures for reference). People were blocking the stairs and standing on both sides of the area where the seats are. However, your security staff WERE NOWHERE TO BE SEEN.
In short, this concert that was supposed to be great experience turned into a very stressful experience due to the lack of professionalism of your staff and bad organization of the concert in general. I wish you applied your “security and safety policies” as strictly as your...
Read moreLocation is great as in the vicinity to Times Square and easy commuting in the heart of Manhattan, however venue is way too tiny for hosting Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Super Live, totally not fit at all for any kinds of musicals while ironically NYC hosted for 3 consecutive days for 4 shows and other cities with better venues only hosted 1 shows or 2 (Seattle) only, no incline on floor zone, very poor vision to the stage when some one in front of you is tall, you barely see someone's head only, horrible experience, almost ruined the sailor soldier's final performance for wrapping up North American tour and hardly ruined my experience as I have been applying US visa and flew from New Zealand for 16Hs to meet the cast and purchased 2 VIP top price tickets. Staff wasn’t friendly even I got VIP card, did not pass me with lanyards, and I queued for souvenir purchasing , suddenly a secure guard in green shirt grabbed my arm saying not this way and told me the correct end of the queue, dragged me away…stage visual was very poor , half of the screen has been covered blocking lyrics, also what's worse, the VIP zone, all the seats were on the SAME LEVEL AND SEATS WERE TEMPERORY INSTALLED AND NO INCLINE AT ALL, THUS WHENEVER some one is very tall in front of you , it will be a nightmare that your view to stage will be blocked. Thank goddess I had reviewed google comments and purchased another performance and watched at Newark (NJPAC)in advance, NY palladium did not even add poster outside the venue for sailor moon , the poorest venue for the entire North America tour while charging the highest price of 230USD per audience for VIP zone, all other theaters in US had offered great visual and sound effect and way reasonable pricing for
Read moreI went there to see Dreamcatcher last night. The box office people were super nice when I went to ask them questions because I had VIP. The security people were all very friendly even tho it was a very long day and tried to help out as much as they can. The VIP view was absolutely great and highly recommend the balcony's if you can get lucky enough to get a ticket. The reason I felt I needed to write the review is that I really think they need to look into better air conditioning. I super duper applaud the security and Dreamcatcher Company for giving out water to the fans in the pit. But it was impossibly hot and kept getting worse as the night went. It had been a sold out show since the first day the tickets went on sale. They knew it was a sold out show, but it was very very clear from everyone who worked at the venue, who was not part of the tour, that they had no idea about Kpop or what the show was gonna be like. It looks the 3rd person literally passing out before I saw a paramedic come check. The first two people who fainted - three overall throughout the concert - were taken out by security and I want to stress how AMAZING the security handled it and themselves. They acted quickly and efficiently and made sure to get the people help as soon as possible. Also, they, DCC, Dreamcatcher themselves all were very vigilant about making sure the crowd was okay and honestly that was the most heartwarming thing to see. Please please fix your air-conditioning. Your venue, your staff, your security and the artist you had play...
