Living at Parc 77 is decently nice, with good staff and a fairly clean building. The location is definitely the selling point. That said, it’s the most poorly managed place of all the buildings we’ve lived in in NYC (and that’s saying something given NYC renting standards). They took an absurd amount out of our security deposit for not cleaning under the toilet rim and leaving a standard few holes in the walls, while these things have never caused us problems before in 8 leases in NYC. When we contact them they either never respond or do only after having to call on repeat, and unsurprisingly we still haven’t heard back about disputing our security deposit. We also tried to transfer internally in the building and they told us we couldn’t see the apartment, while they showed it to someone else who then rented it. In the end, they just don’t care about your experience as a tenant so long as their bases are covered, so I’d be prepared to accept that if...
Read moreThe management and ownership (Equity Residential) have been extremely difficult to deal with. The building has been without gas for over five months. Five months! Their response is a meager 5% abatement at first, and after continued pressure from tenants, an “increase” to 10%, which is still insulting considering we’ve had to live without basic amenities.
What’s worse is the dismissive attitude. The landlord actually wrote in an email that “feel free to bring the issue to housing court.” In other words, they’d rather make tenants go through a legal process than simply do what’s right.
Equity Residential has a long history of poor management and even lawsuits for similar issues. You’d think they would’ve learned by now. Sadly, the tenants here are paying the price for their unwillingness to take...
Read moreWas here during the winter months 12/28-2/25 while on assignment and let me tell ya it was cold in the apartment. They leave the AC units in during the cold months and they control the heat and on one of the coldest days they left the heat off. Like it's winter leave it on. I complained so much bc I had to use my blankets and sheets along the windows just to try to keep it warm. Then they have a laundry room in the sub basement and because pets are allowed when people wash their clothes they don't clean the washer resulting in nasty dog hair. It's so gross. The staff at the front desk is super friendly and that's the only good thing I can say. I'm so glad my employer pays for the rental and not me because I would be so pissed if this is what I...
