I was a resident here the staff are horrible they are lazy they could care less about your situation I went there pregnant and asked for help to bring my bags upstairs because there is no elevator and they made me carry it all by myself up 3 flights because they said that wasn’t there job it’s apparently against policy to help a pregnant woman with her belongings that can kill the baby if I lift heavy items which in fact I had 3 bags with me and a suitcase also I had to worry about being sick and possibly having complications during pregnancy because the girls always were fighting and the staff did nothing they also kicked me out in the middle of the night because I came in late I was pregnant and 32 weeks what do you expect that’s labor...
Read moreI was transferred here on 2021 as a DV client, left because of constant disturbances at night. When I returned in 2022, I was attacked by a woman with a broomstick from the janitors station. SHE BROKE MY ARM. I was fresh out of the shower and confronted her for harassment. This woman was not arrested, she was not transferred. 2023, down on my luck and I get a "safety" transfer by someone that looks like my ex husband. When I arrived, it was brought to my attention the woman that broke my arm is still here, just a few beds away. I can count at least 8 female clients that I have seen back in January 2021. It is now December 2023. These clients have not been transferred after all this time, they have not recieved help. How are...
Read moreI am currently a resident at Park Slope Women Shelter located at 1402 8th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215. The conditions in this shelter are horrible I have complained to staff about these conditions but yet they say they don’t have maintenance and supposedly are short of staff that if we want to clean it than go ahead cause they aren’t doing anything about it and it’s sad cause why do us women have to live in these type of conditions especially the elderly women here and the health conditions they may have and yet this shelter does not help it at all with the filthy conditions in the shelter...
