I had a horrible experience at this restaurant and will never support this establishment again. Firstly, the waitress with the green hair treated me and my friend terribly. She was very unpleasant and had a grumpy disposition with us. She walked away without taking my order and gave me the wrong drink. Additionally, when my friend did not like her drink, she was unkind to her. Also, instead of putting my bowl on the table, she gave me my bowl from the corridor as if I was doing her a favor. I had to ask another waiter for more dressing because she never returned to check on our table. I noticed the difference in treatment because she did not treat the other patron sitting right next to us the same way who was Caucasian. To add insult to injury, my friend sent her dish back. Instead of saying “no problem” or inquiring about what could have been done to improve the dish, the waitress asks unnecessary questions about the experience. She never treated the next customer with such hostility and aggression. Additionally, when I tried to let the other server know how distasteful her service was towards us, he ignored it and did not apologize for her nastiness. I would advise African Americans not to support this establishment. As her behavior was terrible and uncalled for. Hopefully, this young woman will treat others of different races better. As you should not judge a book by its cover, every human deserves to be treated well, no matter their creed, color, race,...
Read moreBefore I begin, I just want to say... man, their Croissant aux Amandes was so darn good. Their recipe is none like any other since they are made fresh on premises. The light almond filling is what I adore most, bite after bite was to die for. Oh, and let me tell you, coffee tastes better in a bowl? My husband and I each ordered a cup and both were served in bowls. Not your average size cup of joe, I mean bowl.
Anyways, on our day off we happened to stumble upon this cute little café with antique feel décor. Every piece of seating furniture was different which makes this shop unique.
Those who eat with me knows there must be some sort of greens on the table. We went for the Organic Kale Butternut Squash Salad, subbed with arugula instead since they were out of kale but I thought arugula tasted just fine. Topped with soft butternut squash, sliced cucumbers, dried cranberries and figs, tossed in a shallot dressing with pumpkin seeds for crunch. Hubs went with boring ole Ouefs sur le Plat aka egg platter with bacon and scrambled eggs; bacon was on the extra crispy side and not to our liking. Overall, we enjoyed our morning date. The staff was friendly which was a plus. I would definitely come back to try all of their baked goods, and for the almond...
Read moreThe young lady at the cooking station had 1/2 of her hair all over hanging out AS she was making food. Two servers were notified and asked her to put her hair away. She refused. In case the owner is not aware about the FDA restaurants food handling safety code:
In New York City restaurants, kitchen workers (like cooks and food preparers) are REQUIRED to use effective hair restraints under the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Food Code.
That usually means: • Hairnets, hats, caps, visors, or other coverings to keep hair from falling into food!!!. • Beards may also need a restraint (like a beard net) if they’re long enough to be a risk. • The covering must fully keep hair out of food, though it doesn’t have to be a specific style (some kitchens allow baseball caps, chef hats, or bandanas as long as they work effectively). Yes, she had a “hat” on , but all her hair were out of this hat hanging all over literally inches away from the food...
