I went in, not expecting much, I saw the reviews of many five stars, and how they said the burgers are incredible. Honestly, from the outside it blends in with the other buildings, it’s pretty dusty and it doesn’t call much attention to the establishment. I couldn’t really tell at least from the outside what they served so they could do a lot better there. I walked in into it to buy two restaurant has only three tables with the kitchen in the back and the cashier in the front so two employees the whole time It’s a very tiny tiny restaurant, but I can see that they used to have a lot of popularity back before the pandemic in about 2019 2018. I ordered the classic burger and some tater tot‘s. Give me a glass of water for free which is really nice. It came out to be only $22 including the tip so it is a pretty affordable restaurant now when I got the food to be honest with you, the tater tot‘s are pretty nice nothing to complain. They’re about an eight out of 10. The burger on the other hand was very solid to I would say 8.5 out of 10 if anything he use a little more seasoning, but there are other burgers that had a lot so much more to offer, such as one with cold pork, ones with chicken, sliders, etc. I think this is a great establishment to go to if you’re in the area with some friends (not too many) and you’re looking for something simple and neat to eat. I would come back here, if I could improve anything, I would just increase the marketing for the business, as the outside part of the establishment was pretty bland and dusty I couldn’t even tell if they were open or not. but the menu is very diverse. They have everything from ice cream chicken burgers, hamburgers fries shakes, soda anything you could possibly think of but for the near future I would increase the marketing over here and fix that front doorway but I will come back. A solid three...
Read moreOn a peculiarly hot summer day at August end, I arrived late evening to the friendly staff reminding me of a scuba instructor I once met in Vietnam - and I ordered a Beatles, a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, a side of Tater Tots, and a Mexican Coke. I sat there, looking at the vintage art on the walls, that gave a warm cafe vibe to the environment. The food arrived, kindly served by the only staff, allowing me to sit there and read whilst eating on my own. I ate the tater tots, which was deeply battered in oil and had a strong oily bready crunch, along with the sandwich, which contained a chicken patty similar to a schnitzel pounded flat fried then cut in half and stacked between a sauced bun, along with the classic Mexican Coke. All the food bear the resemble of the food I had expected, but with an extra oomph of deeply caked friedness to it, which cannot be aptly described as anything but "gnarly". It also meshed well with the sweltering heat, pummeling inside, with the AC turned off assuming because the shop was closing up, but nonetheless it was a peaceful and enjoyable evening eating at the local shop huddled up with my book on a...
Read moreI so wanted to support this small business but sorry to say I won’t be back. I was greatly disappointed. I’m staying in the neighborhood just for a week or so, and was in search of something fast, healthy and inexpensive. It’s a tiny place and the server (maybe the owner?) was very sweet. My salad came quickly. I was hopeful. But it was mostly lettuce. I know that rents are high but 17.00? for a plate of lettuce with a smattering of inexpensive ingredients?
The staff opened the door. The flies began coming in. I ate as much as I could as I shooed the flies away. I wasn’t going to go to another restaurant at this point. I was sad for the restaurant that this was the best they could do. Sad that two old white guys sat at the one sidewalk table out front for a while seemingly wo having ordered anything. Sad that I had ordered a sad salad. Maybe their other menu items are better and the salad is on the menu just bc people expect any menu to have at least one salad. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.
But the flies were a...
