Absolutely lovely experience at Pilgrim NY, I went to this shop on the recommendation of a friend in the fashion business. I've been looking for Chanel vintage bags also I love Japanese designers too.

If you are looking for a little something to treat yourself there is so many options. This is definitely the place to visit again and again. The racks are filled with Comme des garcons, junya watanabe, issey miyake and more. When you walk up the first thing you notice is the spectacular windows with mannequins covered in Comme des Garcons and Chanel vintage jewelry along with about 50 different models and designs of mint condition Chanel bags and there is even more in the back! They also carry many other pristine designer bags as they only deal with professional dealers in Paris and Tokyo, so nothing is consignment and everything is authentic and pristine.

Well priced, no pressure to buy but owner/staff are very helpful. Love that the products are primarily made by real artist/designer. Always worth stopping in to see the new products that the owner is constantly bringing in.

One of a special select places in New York. It's a fashion museum. The entire store is filled with vintage Chanel, YSL, Dior, Valentino, and literally the largest Japanese designer vintage clothing selection you will ever see. I go to Paris. I know what I"m talking about. This is super special. Be prepared to part with some cash. It's serious. It's not for the budget minded mostly, although they do have exquisite costume jewelry that is actually quite reasonable, I got a parisian bracelet for $120, Not Bad! And I wear it everywhere I go and get tons of compliments on it. I also have probably bought 3 Chanel rare bags here over the last couple of years. The owners are super nice and super knowledgeable about fashion. They really give great advice to anyone who asks and are not the types of are snobby like in a Chanel boutique. I don't like going to Chanel boutiques because you never know how you'll be treated. Here I am always treated really well (well, I'm also a regular customer which I guess doesn't hurt any!) Pilgrim New York has an amazing collection of vintage and contemporary fashion chic! Upon my entering the store I was amazed at all the good things packed into one shop! As a stylist, I am hard to impress as I see so much all the time. But the last time I saw such great things like the Chanel Collections Acquired - was in Paris. Just a fantastic MUST DO STOP while in Manhattan. There are literally the best vintage Chanel bags I've ever seen here along with a huge selection of unworn or lightly worn Comme des Garcons, Isabel Marant, Ann Demulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Valentino, Celine and all the top designers that use the best fabrics and don't mass produce clothing.

I worked the vintage shows in NYC for years where dealers would go to shop and this collection is among the world class places to shop for vintage. And I found the owner totally terrific, helpful, educated on his goods and charming. And after being a window dresser in some of the best stores, BG, Barney's, Escada, Saks.
