A week ago I made an online order of more than $ 500 dollars to this store and I paid a two-day shipping which was never real. I called to see the status of my shipment since my emails did not have any respond and they told me that the next day I would have an answer; they never contacted me. A few days later I called to the store and they direct me to another department because "they do not handle online shopping". Once I hang up, i received an order cancellation to my email , I tried to communicate multiple times to the department, and it turns out that the call comes out without a tone, I called from another phone and they answer me in a very aggressive tone questioning why my insistence, that they knew it was me calling from another number. I asked them what was the reason for not answering me if they knew about my order a few days ago, in a highly altered tone he told me that he was not responsible for decisions made by "Steve" and then he told me that they canceled my order because supposedly they did not have the item.
There are many ways to tell a customer that they do not have the item they are buying online, and more so when they know that something is wrong with their communication. It is the worst experience i've ever had making an online purchase. I am a business owner and would never allow treatment in this way as if the client were to blame for its inefficiency.
So please, if you're thinking to buy online from them, don't do it.
Read moreI would stay far away from this place, I've heard store workers call customers a**holes under their breath after offering products that the customer denied.
Also I purchased a lens from their store and asked the guy if all was okay with it prior to purchasing it. He said yes, I went home and attached the lens to hear a rattling sound inside of it. Turns out the lens wouldn't focus properly and whatever was rattling was blocking the cameras vision.
I went back to return it THE NEXT DAY after reading their policy that used items have a 15 day return period. Upon the arrival, a store clerk mentioned that they understood my concerns but immediately another guy interjected and said you cannot receive a refund on this product.
Being civil I asked for an exchange, due to the lens being broken.
I was denied, I mention the policy and was consistently rejected. I would suggest saving your time, energy and sanity from dealing with this store, the younger people and Omar are a great bunch.
It's the two old dudes who work in the back of the store who really dampen the mood. I tried to work with them any way possible but due to the abrasive nature I left.
I also noticed that if you buy anything used from this store although they have a 15 day used return policy ( they will claim that it was a "bargain" item on the receipt and will refuse to accept the return.)
I purchased 4 items 2 from the bargain bin and two that were used, upon checking my receipt when I arrived home all items are claimed as bargain items... also they make up prices on the spot for certain items, was told an off brand lens cap was 10 dollars was charged 15.99 for it and they slapped bargain item on it. I purchased it from behind the counter HOW IS IT A BARGIN bin item?!
Bargin Items are USED ITEMS and to claim that you cannot return a bargin item is unfair especially when you read their policy and nowhere is...
Read moreDubious business at best. Do not give your $$ or Credit Card info to this establishment. I rented equipment for $75 and was charged $350 for "damages". This equipment was in fair shape at best; that's why it's in the rental department. I have rented and bought equipment from other businesses for many, many years and have NEVER had an issue. This was the first and absolutely last time I will deal with KM Camera. This repair was completely unnecessary. More importantly it was in no way attributable to me because I ended up not using the equipment. This is like renting a car with 100k miles, parking it in your clean garage overnight, and then being charged $350 when your return it as it was for an imperceptible, tiny dent among the many scratches, dings, and scraps that are completely normal wear and tear from its extensive previous use. If the owner of KM Camera, Peter Kosovitz, and his staff can behave like this in this situation, you can be certain they behave this way as often as possible to generate $$ as an additional stream of revenue. If you're a consumer, stay away. If you're an employee, you deserve to work someplace better. If you are a brand that sells cameras, film, and equipment to KM Camera on an authorized basis, reconsider who you do business with. Finally I think the owner and team at KM Camera should consider something reputable business professionals call Lifetime Customer Value. As a professional photographer, I buy and rent thousands of $$ worth of equipment every year. I was literally considering the purchase of a new Sony lens at KM, which cost $1800. I'll order it elsewhere. Furthermore, I talk to and associate with many other photographers, studios, and directors. Was that $350 worth what you're about to lose now? Be a better business. Be a...
