While the manager Bria and a couple of the staff are a very down-to-earth, approachable ensemble, the gym itself has recently become increasingly lacking in enforcement of protocols concerning appropriate gym behavior, considerations and courtesies. Because of the manner in which some of the guests use space with no consideration for the elderly especially, this gym location can at times be an unsafe obstacle course. Unfortunately, the gym staff cannot keep up with the goings on at this location. Moreover, some of the youths at the gym are defensive and snotty when politely asked about other options concerning where they situate moveable benches and weights (spread out to narrow the pathway). For many at this gym, it is a free-for-all where some people wear tank tops, sweating on equipment without cleaning/sanitizing (with many available spray bottles and paper towels to clean the devices in place throughout this location). Many people spend considerable time on their weight-training machines, using their phones longer while seated than working out. Such circumstances leave more conscientious guests in a place of being singled-out as “bothersome” should they reach out to the young employees, some of whom will never look you in the face or greet you. Often this is a facility where one cannot count on any given day if one’s workout will go smoothly, in a timely manner, and efficiently or or if one must wait around for machines that are high in demand because there is only one such device. While several of the staff have lovely, helpful dispositions, some do not, thereby making this particular location proof that the great pricing has everything to do with the saying, “You get what you pay for.” Certainly, if you’re determined to get a great workout and are not in a hurry, this franchise is still a great value until further notice. If you’re accustomed to a more upscale gym where manners and behaviors of patrons are in order and you are not concerned about your gym budget, this is not an ideal place for a workout you can count on each time you go—especially one that is without people who lack gym manners. If one attempts to courteously address something directly to a fellow guest concerning weights being in the way or the idea that a guest is monopolizing two machines simultaneously during a busy time—while spending considerable time on one’s Smart phone, one must be prepared to expect that some of the younger guests especially can be aggressive and disrespectful. Bria, this location’s manager, does what she can to within reason and has even in my presence banned a very volatile, hostile guest whose behavior warranted having the police contacted. So, unless you’re one to ignore the mixed bag of apples at this gym, it can have disappointing, frustrating days. Certainly, if one is determined to get in a great workout—regardless of the many variables at this gym, your workout will happen. Still, I recommend chanting a Buddhist mantra at home prior to your workout at this gym.

If I could I would give this place a 0. Signed up online and entered my bank info. First time, it said my bank info did not process through so I entered my info again. Ended up getting charged twice each month. Spoke to one worker there she was rude and was not able to provide rationale as to why it would double charge me. Each time I was charged twice I had to sign into my banking app and manually dispute the double charge. Then was charged a $15 late fee when I have not been late with my payments and they have actually if anything been doubling charging me. Manager is very elusive (see Dorian's review - you cant ever find the man started to think he's a mythical creature). Staff says he comes in at 10am which is untrue and everyday I have tried to catch him he's been late has been coming in closer to 11am. Staff says he's punctual, but the lie detector test detected that was a lie. Don't tell your customers you come in at 10am then when you actually come in at 11am. After 5 times of trying to talk to manager Carlos finally was able to catch him in person. He basically said the $15 late charge was because I had 2 accounts open under the same email which I don't even understand how that is possible and when I signed up for membership online it made me input my card info twice because the first time came up with an error that it did not register. Then suddenly the manager changes the story to you cants pay for gym membership on the credit card when it clearly has allowed me to and if anything double charging me. And he was very rude. He wanted me to login to my chase app and give him my phone and give him my number to my savings account... SKETCHY. Just a bit disappointed because we come to the gym to destress, but I find myself actually more stressed coming here. Just cancelled my membership today (so hopefully I don't get charged me next month because I canceled today). I just called my bank and they will do a charge back on the $15 and I plan to call planet fitness corporate right now because it inappropriate for the manager to be asking for your savings information... very fraudulent.... Looked through the other reviews and it looked like this other person named Aimee had the exact same issue... Only thing this planet fitness has going for it is their one employee who was very nice (didn't catch his name) but he was of more assistance than Carlos. Seriously they should have him as manager instead because Carlos customer service skills they lacking... Update: went back recently and was using the climbmill when the worker stopped it midway to clean a compartment. Didn't say anything to me. Was midstep.and could've fallen. All she kept saying to herself was "my manager's gonna kill me, he's gonna be upset". She could have waited til I was done (had about 5 minutes left) or could've at least given me a head up that she was going to stop the machine. Very dangerous and unprofessional.

I feel privileged to exercise here while regaining the health I possessed prior to my brain operations in 2016/17. đŸ€ŻJoin and watch me get jacked AF đŸ’Șand overcome my severe traumatic brain injury. I take pride in not being deemed disabled by the staff, seems like my health efforts are working! Although they do have a copious amount of electric wheelchair members who make me grateful to have remained ambulatory. And I always show them my freshly healing skull incisions and beat my chest with pride to give them encouragement đŸ„șThe club makes economical use of space with a nice variety of machines. The staff is awesome and take pride in their jobs. The location is awesome especially being across from MacDonald park. The club is super clean and well stocked. My having been raised in Forest Hills Gardens, makes for a fulfilling experience to be amongst my judeo-christian brethren while striving for our health. 💓 My only criticism is there is only one chest fly machine & no mirror in the changing room. I wholeheartedly fanboy over the Planet Fitness mission statement and therefore have visited almost every one in the greater metropolitan area and this is amongst the best. 💯

This Planet Fitness has the WORST customer service on the planet. The club manager here is extremely rude and either doesn't know how to do his job or is a fraud, and should be fired. However, I will not reveal his name publicly here.

On July 11, 2023, I requested a 3-month membership freeze from August to October due to my medical issue. On that day, I received emails from Planet Fitness regarding the freeze, but it was strange that I received 5 of the same emails at once with the membership freeze documents attached. I later realized that unlike the normal documents in the first four emails I received, the document in the last email had been manipulated by someone. The membership that was supposed to be reactivated in November had been modified to September in that document, and my signature had been replaced with someone else's. Since the manager’s name was on the document, I can assume he did it, and it's clear that this was definitely not done by mistake. The intention to hide document manipulation by sending the same email five times is extremely malicious. This is the third degree forgery, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison and up to $1,000 in fines.

For the three months from August to October, when my membership was supposed to be frozen, the monthly fees were still paid. I have asked the manager for a refund several times, but no matter how long I wait, it never happens. The last time I asked for a refund was on January 22, 2024, and he said it would take 5-7 business days, but still no refund. I don't understand why it's so hard to get a refund when the club takes the annual and monthly fees every month, never a day late. I was so upset that I asked the manager for a refund once again last night, but he didn't seem to care about my request at all, so I decided to just cancel my membership. For a small amount of money, I don't want to be stressed anymore. I hope he buys coffee for other staff with the money he didn't refund me. I'll think of it as a donation to someone in need.

The only good thing about this place is that the monthly membership is cheaper than other places. But remember: You will get what...
