Situated on the 2nd floor of the building, we didn't really expect what the location was. When we entered, it was very lively, with the mariachi band, preparing to play around the restaurant. On a Friday night, it wasn't crowded. We got to sit on a table with tall chairs. They serve nacho chips with their own salsa. We first ordered mojitos, their passion fruit flavored one was really good. We started with a steak quesadilla. My wife ordered the paella and I had their special for that day, the sirloin con camarones, basically a surf and turf. They all came within a reasonable amount of time, and we enjoyed our food very much. The server was really nice especially with the mojito, she suggested the passion fruit, which really was the best I've had there. The mango was okay. After our meal, we were given warm house wine with cinnamon which was, to our surprise really good! I would definitely go back and try some of their other food.

Locating the stairway to El Cayote was the only challenge we experienced but it did not take away from our night. From entry into restaurant and throughout our stay, the staff at El Cayote were very welcoming and accommodating. The atmosphere was bright, colorful and very cozy. There was outdoor seating but we chose to eat inside due to the hot temperature outside. For our main meals we ordered the Paella El Coyote with lobster tail and the Flautas Chorizo. Both dishes were excellent! We had enough left over for a future meal. For drinks we ordered the Tropicana and it was very tasty. The cost was very reasonable. The restaurant, including bathroom, was modern and very clean. Overall, we had a great experience and we will be returning soon. Stopped by here a few times. The food is great but service is pretty bad. On multiple occasions there is a waiter who works there with glasses and mustache. He for sure makes the experience unpleasant. First time went there with my wife and he was our server. The restaurant was pretty empty but he would only attend the same tables that dont even need anything. While my wife and I sat there for nearly 20 minutes. When he finally came we ordered our food. Then the food came but he didnt put in all the food we ordered. When we got our food we didnt have utensils or even a glass of water. Again we were completely ignored. Finally I ask another worker if he could bring us water and utensils. The waiter with the mustache and glasses is sad to say but he only attends people who are Spanish. I realized that any one who was Spanish speaking was getting his full attention and others were completely ignored. Next time I ordered food for pick up. When i arrived the same waiter with the glasses and mustache was at the door. It was a Sunday and place wasnt packed. He watched me standing by the entrance for nearly 5 minutes. Then when a Spanish couple walked in he came to the door and asked them what they need and completely ignored me. I told him that I was here first and he said that my food is not ready. He took the couple and then when he was walking by I asked how long for my food. He said he is going to check. He comes back 5 minutes later and tells me again that my food is not ready. So i said i did a 4 PM pick up how long till its ready. He leaves again goes to the computers and comes back. This time when he comes back he asks me what is my name. I told him then how did you check on my food if you dont even know what I ordered or what my name is. He went back again and told me i need to wait 20 minutes cause the kitchen is busy. I told him i ordered my food at 2PM for 4PM pick up since I need to go to work. Then he just walked away. Another waiter started his shift and he finally was able to get me my food. I don’t know what that one waiter name is but he works on Sundays around 2-5 PM with a glasses and a mustache. This guys should not be working there cause he just don’t care about anyone who comes in. Plus his attitude is bad. If you are not Spanish he will completely ignore you. Cause i been there multiple times and every one else gets completely ignored. Its sad cause the restaurant is loosing customers and the food is actually pretty good. I know I am done with that place cause racism shouldn’t exist in 2022 but this guy for sure will make you feel...

Great food, live mariachi band great. Sadly the service was atrocious.

I went with my aunts, who have been there many times before. For starters our waiter was rude from the get go. First attempting to make a joke when one of my aunt's was going to order her meal. Then towards the end of our dinner, the same aunt asked him a question The Establishment usually gives all meals and after dinner wine drink to "help"'aide the digestion process. My aunt was wondering what happened to it. The waiter said that the drink is only meant for those who have ordered alcoholic beverages throughout their meal. This isn't the case, as they have gone before and would always received this. She let it go and were packing up, when the waiter returns and throws the wine glass into the table towards her and says "Here, so you don't leave wanting." And scurries away. Needless to say one of my other aunt's and I immediately ginand ask for the manager. The manager was surprised and apologized however my aunt said it best, they lost customers. Due to the waiters behavior.

Would i return here if only to speak with the owner and let him know the kind of worker he has on his payroll, otherwise I will pass and head to real authentic Mexican cuisine along...

This place deserves NEGATIVE ratings. I decided today to go enjoy a lunch with my boyfriend since we haven't eaten all day. IT WAS NOT a pleasant experience at all. We both ordered our food, waited 30 min for half of his order was cold which he had to return. I ordered a steak with no sauce because it was spicy plus rice and refried beans. It came out completely wrong, my steak had the spicy sauce all over it and my rice and beans was wrong. I sent it back, waited another 15 min only for the steak to be raw and my rice and beans were all cold. They took it back a 3rd time, i told them just forget it because It's been over an hour now after not eating all day. THE MANAGER HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME WELL I WILL NOT CHARGE YOU BUT YOU CAN'T EAT IT AND I'M TAKING IT BACK. THAT'S COMPLETELY POOR MANAGEMENT AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Are you kidding me?! I have never been to a restaurant that a manager did not take on responsibility as a "MANAGER" My guess is she don't know what a manager position entails. I will never go to this place again and I will make sure every single person I know is aware. If the owner one day is wondering why his business is not thriving maybe it's time you should...
