I recently attended a pottery class here for my niece’s birthday. My family and I had an ahmazing time and experience at Pottery NYC. From start to finish, the class exceeded my expectations in every way. First and foremost, the instructor, Lou, was funny and knowledgeable, and the demo was very thorough (made it look way too easy, LOL) and provided a lot of helpful guidance throughout the process. The team here created a super supportive and encouraging atmosphere, making the class accessible to beginners like myself. The class itself was well-organized and thoughtfully designed. The studio was clean, tidy, and equipped with all the necessary tools and materials. I particularly appreciated the hands-on approach, as it allowed me to immerse myself in the creative process fully. Finally, the highlight of this was seeing the tangible results of our efforts. The satisfaction of shaping the clay with my hands and witnessing it transform into a piece of pottery was incredibly rewarding. The class allowed me to tap into my creative side and gave me a newfound appreciation for the art of pottery. Overall, I highly recommend this pottery class to anyone interested in exploring their creativity or looking for a fun and engaging activity. I cannot wait to go back and...
Read moreI have been on the hunt for a beginner-level pottery class in NYC, and this definitely surpassed my expectations. I have been considering looking into a pottery course, but due to scheduling, I decided to start with one class to see how I liked it. It was such a fun experience! I would definitely go back. I went solo, and I was nervous that the studio would be filled with groups, but we had a mix of groups and solo participants. Since it was Tuesday, the class was small, which allowed us to have some one-on-one time with the instructor, Thistle, who was amazing! She made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in, and you could tell she is genuinely a nice person who really enjoys her job. After a demonstration, we had the opportunity to make as many pieces as we wanted, and then we got to pick our favorite piece for them to put in the kiln. We will be able to pick them up in about a week! Personally, I thought it was a great way to learn because we had the chance to practice the techniques multiple times on different pottery pieces. Overall, I loved the class and can't...
Read moreSmall, narrow studio, but has everything you need (as least for a beginner). There were only 9 people (15 is the capacity) in the class, so the studio didn't get too crowded, but had there been anymore people it would've been a little less convenient when going from one end of the studio to the other to wash up, get more clay, etc.
We attended the beginner wheel throwing class, and I really enjoyed it. The instructor, Thistle, gave a comprehensive 15 minute demo of what to do at the start of the class and let us make as many pieces as we wanted until the end. She was very helpful and encouraging throughout.
Overall had a great experience and would...
