I have hesitated to review hoping for improvement, however I have now purchased maybe my 5th spoiled item here since the new ownership, and lost hope completely when I went searching for a pizza crust without eggs for my daughter who has an allergy, and saw this extremely moldy one right atop the pile today. How long would this type of packaged pizza crust have to be somewhere for it to get this moldy? I cannot say, but this is far from a one off. I have purchased overpriced yet spoiled yogurt, rotten cheese, stale baked goods, and don’t even get started on the decrepit produce. Please just STOCK LESS INVENTORY if stuff isn’t selling!!! If someone hasn’t already gotten food poisoning here, I would be shocked, but it will not be me because if I absolutely have to go in due to time constraints, I will only purchase frozen or non-perishables and check expiry dates on those too.
As far as the logistical changes, I was disappointed the deli counter and rotisserie chicken were removed. However I do not drink so I do not care about the lack of beer, nor do I care for the Islamophobic commentary in other reviews about why the owners would choose not to sell alcohol or pork products. I came here despite the high prices. When they stopped selling beer, I was annoyed. Now that they removed the deli counter, we're breaking up. I would come in and buy a rotisserie chicken and get other things because I was in the store. Now someone else is getting that business. Managers, maybe look up "loss leaders" if you don't think rotisserie chickens matter. Maybe your business is ok, but look here and on Nextdoor. The neighborhood hates the way you're...
Read moreI long for the days of Gourmet Fresh. They sold beer. They didn’t have wildly unpredictable and inflated prices (at least, not like THIS). They didn’t constantly move things around. And their cut fruit was divine.
Prospect Market’s shelves are sparse. Their selection is unpredictable. I see that their EBT reader is often broken, which is lazy at worst and classist at best. This used to be a surprisingly useful and little shop but with the sale to Prospect Market, it’s useless. Now, to get anything I need, I have to walk all the way up to Union Market, a grocery store that sucks but not as bad...
