I’ve heard of FieldTrip for a while now and I always wanted to visit. This is a Black Owned and Operated business. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant Angelo and Nicole were so welcoming. Angelo questioned whether it was our first time visiting and we told him it was. He took his time to explain the history of the restaurant as well as the menu options. The menu is posted up on their wall there are also QR codes on the wall to scan with your phone so you can also view the menu. Once we placed our order, Nicole even told us it was okay for us to sit down as they would bring our food over to us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very welcoming and warm. The music was great. There are tables in the restaurant for you to sit if you would like to dine in the restaurant. We didn’t wait long for our food to arrive. Our food (crispy chicken bowl and veggie bowl) was bought over by Nicole on a tray along with utensils and napkin and wet wipes to clean your hands. I was worried about liking the rice as there are onions in the rice and I’m not an onion person. Angelo informed me the onions were finely crushed I wouldn’t be able to tell it was there and he was absolutely right. The bowl was absolutely delicious, the chicken and BBQ sauce were amazing. The collards greens were also really delicious. My brother also informed he liked his veggie bowl. We ordered the passion fruit lemonade for our drinks it was okay I wasn’t a fan of it but my brother absolutely loved it. When we were done with eating Nicole even got a lid and bag for my bowl. For me to take with me. After we were done Angelo also provided us with Pina Colada Ice Cream. My brother really enjoyed it as it was a dairy free vegan. I absolutely enjoyed myself and the food was delicious. Thank you, Angelo and Nicole, I can’t wait to go...

Field Trip is a fast casual restaurant. It is definitely on the healthier side among other eateries in this part of Harlem. I realized when I walked in that it would of have been better to preorder my food via their website because it was such a long wait and there weren't that many customers online. I know, I know COVID precautions. The 2 servers were doing their best to fill incoming orders from online & in person but they were slow. Let me tell there is not one hint of attitude from these ladies (how rare is that in a Harlem restaurant). That earns a 2 star rating in itself. One person came in after I did after about 3 minutes, she turned around and left. I finally place my order for the chicken bowl and the fried fish bowl. It took a while to prepare but finally the server walked over to the area where I waiting to hand off my order. I tried the Fried fish bowl first, the fish was packed in a sleeve away from the food (I guess to keep it from being soggy). I added to the bowl and reheated my meal in the microwave. The fish is seasoned a bit too heavy for my taste buds (I don't consume alot of salt). I didn't care for the cornmeal batter either, it was a bit gritty. The rice was good, well cooked but it had some veggies in there I don't eat like brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts are not common vegetables in my Caribbean/Southern upbringing but I did it eat it (not too bad). shrugs Overall, I wouldn't order the fish again (the seasoning/batter). I will try the chicken bowl tonight. The restaurant is a medium sized clean and modern space but obviously no is dining in. I would definitely go back to order (pre-order) the veggie bowl and maybe try something else...

I schlepped to Harlem just to try out Chef JJ's latest expression and because I like him and want him to continue to win I feel compelled to leave feedback which I hope they can take and use to make things work (and taste) better. There is nothing crunchy about the chicken, it was DRENCHED in sauce which overwhelmed the whole dish which is already crammed in a tiny bowl. I loooooved the fish bowl, I had no complaints at all about the vegetables and the herbed rice, I thought it was flavorful although the fish was packed separately from the bowl (what was that about, not very tidy or professional). The tarter sauce was lit. The only issue with the rice was I took a bite at one point and there was like some sandy/stony feel I had to spit out that forkful. Another thing is the staff, they looked stressed and overworked. Please hire professional people, there were people in the back just eating food, it just looked some type of way. The cooks looked like they didn't want to be there for sure. The person behind the counter was okay but not very professional or attentive as I made my order. I had multiple orders but was given only one set of cutlery. Wow are things THAAT bad? Skimping on utensils? Most places would definitely put at least 2 sets of cutlery in the bag when there was clearly more than two items in the order. The plantains were too wet/soggy but the Yucca fries were THE BOMB. I typically wouldn't make the trip back to Field Trip BUT for the Yucca fries, I'll walk a mile!!!! I hope things get better, I know it's a pandemic and everyone is trying to stay afloat. These are my 2 cents to give feedback which I...
