First off, she works from home which she should’ve been upfront about, instead of just giving me the address with no apt until I arrived so I wouldn’t know it’s a home (especially due to COVID.) Then she had me wait almost an hour past my appointment time. She rushed my braids, did it completely sloppy and had someone else finish my hair. Then, when I explained to her I didn’t like that the parts in my hair were super uneven, she said “she can’t fix it.” She was overpriced and had an attitude. Definitely not salon quality work on my hair. Not professional at all. I thought because of her reviews I was in good hands but my guess is her good reviews are from her...

First time getting braids. I'm very happy with the end result and with Awa's openness and honesty. I wanted my whole hair braided but the back was too short and she advised not to do them because they would come off and would be a waste of my money. She did the top part of my head and it was definitely better than expected. I did have to wait like an hour after my appointment because of the previous customer but still, compared to other places (that I've read about waiting times) I guess this is ok. I'm definitely going back and already have a friend interested in getting some braids...

I found Awa on Yelp and I'm so happy I did! I love getting my hair braided but the long wait times in salons turns me off of them. With Awa I was able to do an appointment and get fast and pleasant service in the comfort of her clean home (air conditioned by the way, I love this much more than going to a loud salon where the braiders are constantly distracted). Also she protected my edges and didn't pull my hair very tightly - two of my biggest peeves. Pricing was amazing and hair was included. WIN!
