Best Bra Shop in NYC - I have been shopping here since before they were Rigby and Peller. When they changed from Intimacy to Rigby and Peller, they retained several staff members. They kept the best ones, and they are so good to me. It has been 11 years and when I come in from overseas I always make a stop here, as they give me the best fitting bras. I have never had an issue with a bra they sold me. I am a larger size, and it can be a challenge to find the right fit, the felt the tips of the underwire, which makes them last much longer, both under the arm and in the front. They don't charge for it, though it does mean you cannot walk out of the store with your purchase. It is true they do not use a tape measure, but they just know the perfect bra. I never have to try on more than two or three, the bras last a long time, (I do wash by hand and alternate). The staff is always friendly, and professional, and makes me feel comfortable. Went here about three years ago specifically because I'd seen it on, "What Not To Wear."

I am used to offensively-high prices for bras since I am an odd size and further need a very particular style of bra.

I was clearly nothing more than an interruption of the heavy, loud, foreign-language socializing going on among "staff" and the at least four nannies, apparently friends of theirs, hanging out and blocking the already-too-tiny aisles. The only reason I didn't just walk out is that I had no bra that fit properly.

$170 and a BIG blow-off later, I still didn't; as with other reviewers, I saw not a hint of a tape measure.

If you feel you'll never find a store that can sell you the perfect lingerie for your imperfect body, then you need to shop at Rigby & Peller on Madison Ave.They have a large selection in different sizes and colors to choose from, and most importantly they have a fitter with a perfect eye. Her name is Alba. In the past, I've gone to other stores and had other fitters, who seem to be guessing my size and 2 hours later I still wouldn't have any lingerie that properly fitted me. But because of Alba's expertise, she quickly knew which lingerie was the right fit for me, and now I had the luxury of picking what color I also liked; all of this done within a 1/2 hour.
