Seigo is unquestionably the best neckwear store in Manhattan and perhaps the world. I say this without fear of dissent.
Seigo is the only store that I know of which is dedicated to neckwear and accessories, such as pocket squares, scarves, and ladies hats. New York City used to have other stores devoted to just neckwear and accessories. The casual cancer has caused not only the closure of these stand-alone stores but diminished tie offerings in the remaining menswear stores and department stores. Seigo is a flood of color and variety in designs. Many designs are exclusive to the store and are in limited production, such as eight of a given tie. Such ties are numbered and have an exclusive design label. Where else can you get that? The ties and pocket squares are beautifully made in Mr. Seigo's native Japan.
I have been a customer for many years. I give one of my doctors an annual birthday gift of a Seigo tie. I just gave my friend a gift of two ties. I stop-in whenever I am in the area.
It is a small shop with the personal attention of Mr. Seigo and his assistant, an elegant Japanese lady.
The prices are very reasonable for a luxury tie. Ties are about $90-95. You will not get the sticker shock that you would get at other exalted stores where they do not sell ties in this price range.
I say, without fear of contradiction, that Seigo is one of the best menswear stores in New York and should be on the list of every...
Read moreI absolutely love Seigo Neckties and Bow ties. There’s nothing like Japanese silk, too! Seigo also does an amazing job with colors and patterns. Needless to say, I always find what I’m looking for in their vast collection. Years ago, I bought my first ever bow tie from Seigo and I’ve never stopped shopping there. In fact, I still have my first (Seigo) bow tie and it’s in great condition. And I still love its unique pattern. Most recently, I returned to the shop to buy some striped bow ties. I can’t get enough of striped ties in general and Seigo has plenty of cool ones to choose from. Lastly, Seigo customer service is...
Read moreI began purchasing Seigo ties for my husband from the shop on Lexington Avenue many years ago (maybe 25 years ago?). Thank goodness the Madison Avenue shop remains in business. My husband still puts on a suit and tie four out of five days a week and he has a wardrobe of about 15 Seigos in his closet. They are always in the best of taste -- colorful, well-made, sometimes whimsical, and always unique. He gives me full credit whenever someone compliments one of his Seigos, and I always tell the complimenter where they can...
