Roosevelt Island Ferry — Local services in New York

Standard ferry station. This place is not normally staffed. There is one automatic telling machine and a standard roofed waiting area. There are heaters positioned near the benches but it's hard to feel the warmth get all the way down. If it's a nice day and you are not rushing to make the ferry, you could sit on the benches right outside the station fixed in a small relaxing patch of green. The arrivals and departures sign is not currently working (Feb 2021). This station is a short walking distance from the tram, subway and little red bus so you can easily transfer if you must, better yet - stay for a walk around the island with it's great views and...

Traveling with a stroller and baby (that can’t go in a car), was denied service. Turns out the ferry caps the number of people on it and they wouldn’t let me on. Captain and staff were rude and let others on (despite me raising my issue) when there was still space left, even though I could not physically take an Uber or taxi as an alternative.
