The room was very spacious (especially compared to others we had on the trip). There was plenty of room to keep our bags, spread out a bit and still move around without falling over! The rooms do need a little love and attention though, the sink tap barely ran water (basically a trickle) and the power point next to the bed was quite dangerous (loose and coming out of the wall). The shower pressure was good though - that’s always important for us! They have breakfast included (starting from 6:30am) but for me the options were very limited (I’m coeliac and need completely gluten free). I found it ironic that there was a poster in the dining area that called out the listen allergens and how important it is to manage them but then don’t really take steps to manage/understand them. It was a real missed opportunity as the bagels were all individually packaged anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt to have a small gluten free range available (even in request so you need to ask for it). On that basis (and that the team couldn’t give me confidence that cross-contamination would be managed for other items) I was limited to boiled eggs, yoghurt and an apple. Still provided a decent breakfast to start the day (especially as it was included) but could be even better! You can access tea, coffee, water and bagels at anytime during your stay (but the water dispenser was broken while we were there)! Also, while the wi-fi worked, it was very slow most of the time! Really convenient location, several subway stations nearby so really easy to travel to different parts of NYC that you want to see

Stayed here for a couple days after Christmas to visit the Rockefeller tree and other sites. Decided on this hotel after looking up many reviews and debating on whether to stay in Manhattan, Jersey, or branch out. Happy with the choice to stay here as we drove from Ohio and needed to park. The hotel parking was $20 a day during my stay which seemed very reasonable to me after using apps to estimate how much a garage would cost for the two days. One of the best features there is the rooftop, great view, I'm sure it is even more enjoyable in warmer months. Quick walk to either metro stations or food/bars. I never had a problem with any outside noise even being on first floor. Most of the buildings on the block seem to be garages and auto body shops. Felt safe walking around at night. Breakfast was pretty decent. Bagels, bacon, eggs, sausage, cereal, some fruit and toast. Rooms are on the smaller side but based on my searches I think they're good size for NYC area. Imagine something like a microtel room in size. Clean rooms, towels are just ok nothing special, enjoyed the bed and pillows, I like a firmer but comfy bed and that's exactly what I got here. Overall I'd say definitely go for this hotel if you're trying to visit NYC but want to save money on a room and aren't opposed to staying outside of the city. The subway is very easy to figure out and walk to, plus the front desk is helpful if needed.

The hotel was clean, reasonably priced, and the breakfast which was included was tasty. However, two things really stood out to me in a negative way. First, the room had a large portrait of Marilyn Monroe. While some may see it as stylish decor, I found it unsettling. The mass, unthinking use of a real person’s image especially someone who can no longer defend or define their own legacy feels like a subtle form of cultural exploitation. It looks “aesthetic” but carries a disturbing undertone. Monroe was a complex, tragic figure, not just a face for picture. Second, the rule that all guests from the same room must attend breakfast together is impractical. People have different needs one might wake up early, another might want to sleep in, or have health-related reasons for skipping breakfast. Not all guests are families some are just friends or colleagues. The rule feels more about control than guest comfort. This hotel has potential, but these details show a lack of sensitivity and modern thinking.

I gave this hotel a chance since the reviews and pictures were appealing. When I arrived the front desk lady was not very friendly so that was already a bad start. After I checked in I went to use the restroom and when I opened the lid of the toilet they whole seat was full of urine, the whole entire seat it smelled of urine so bad. I immediately sent a video to the front desk stating that it was very upsetting to find the room in that state. Since it was very late and I was exhausted from a long day I cleaned it myself and went to sleep right after. The next morning I was approached by a man with a defensive attitude, he then asked if I had any issues, I proceeded to explain what happened and his response was “we do inspections to the rooms” I was shocked. First of all, if a customer is telling you what is wrong with the service you do not respond in a way which will make the customer feel they are at fault. The hotel wasn’t fancy like the pictures made it seem somewhat which I did not mind but when it comes to cleanness I don’t make exceptions. My uber was waiting outside so I had to run out after the man approached me. I received an email later stating that after reviewing with staff the room was not left in the condition I found it. This hotel implied I checked in and peed all over the seat of the toilet and proceeded to complain about it 5 minutes after I checked in. Actually, it was more like 3 minutes. I had never been so disrespected in my entire career. Not to mention YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE SOME OF THE URINE SPOTS MILDLY DRY on my video so how could it have been me? The fact that they implied I was at fault instead of taking responsibility for their inadequate way of cleaning and their lack of professionalism left me in a state of shock. Also, the view was of an auto repair garage which was not expected but also I didn’t mind as much since I only went there to sleep. My friend stayed at Hotel Vetiver and it was a pleasant stay, extremely clean, nice staff and close to the subway, she had absolutely no issues. Check them out. With that being said please do not stay here if you are concerned with cleanness and being respected. Also, I do not need a response from the hotel on this post, it’s pointless I have all of your emails covering/protecting your staff and trying to maintain and protect...

We stayed at LIC hotel early June 2025. If you want something simple as a UK travel lodge that does all the basics just right without the manhattan price tag this maybe the right hotel for you. ||Breakfast starts at 6.30 and it was ready to go when we had a 6.30 start, no waiting around. Hot food is available for breakfast including pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon or pork patties. All the breakfast essentials are covered and I was satisfied with the choice considering it was included at no extra cost. They were kind enough to let us have breakfast since we arrived early morning before the 3pm check-in. They also allowed us to drop off our luggage into a storage room allowing us to head to manhattan and complete check-in later that evening. They do ask for a $100 deposit by card so make sure you keep this in mind. It will be returned if all is well when you check-out. ||We travelled out to Manhattan every day and there are two near by metro stations, both within a 5-7 min walk approximately. Two stations give you a few more metro lines to travel reducing transferrs. The savings were worth the extra travel time in my opinion. Optimise your journeys by clustering together destinations along the same metro line.||There is a hairdryer in the bathroom but no kettle in the room. Facilities to make tea and coffee are available downstairs all day. ||Our room was cleaned everyday and towels were replaced. Just don’t leave the do not disturb tag on the door.||We booked a three person room which came with a double bed and a single bed (it was proper bed and not a pull out bed). Our room was front facing the street.||If you have any questions just phone the hotel as I did and they will answer all your questions. I had initially sent an email but never got a reply which was my only disappointment. ||I booked direct with the hotel through the website which got me the cheapest price I could find. The prices can fluctuate if you’re booking 2-3 months ahead but I found they were getting higher closer to the date.||Visit the roof terrace there are some decent views of the city. There are a couple of grocery stores near by if you want sandwiches, snacks...

Before I went on my trip I read loads of reviews here. In general I would say the hotel met/possibly exceeded expectations. Overall good value for NYC but you should have a realistic expectation. If you don't plan to spend much time in the hotel in particular but want a safe, clean place to stay + good breakfast, I would recommend.

Pluses: Rooms very clean + cleaned daily Staff reasonably helpful and pleasant to deal with Decent sized rooms Breakfast very freshly cooked and overall of very high quality, with good range of protein options. Boiled and scrambled eggs everyday, with either bacon and breakfast sausage being available as well. Apples and oranges also available. Cold water dispenser in lobby was a lifesaver in the summer heat Very near the E and M lines to Manhattan, which get you to Manhattan in approx 2 stops, 10 minutes. Even to downtown Manhattan eg Greenwich Village, it's maybe 30+ minutes by subway. Also connected, but further away to G and 7 lines. Rooftop has a great view of the Manhattan skyline, nice to buy a drink or two and have it there. But note that the rooftop is v basic, it just has a few benches and nothing else by way of decor.

Disliked · Decor is dated, looks like it was designed in the 90s Aircon in the room is pretty loud and also goes through periods where it revs and blows v cold air and then when the fan turns off, so the temperature isn't constant - found it very hard to sleep on the side of the bed near the aircon for this reason Immediate location around the hotel is safe but not the best for tourists, there isn't really anything to do around, which was problematic when it rained very heavily on one day we were there; also less great for a long time between check out and our flight, since the only real option was to take a subway into Manhattan to while away a couple of hours No real lobby area to sit and wait - we had to check out by 11 but our flight was only at 7.30, there were just a few chairs by the entrance

I stayed here 12-16 July and the room averaged about $184...
