No hello, no good bye and ZERO eye contact from 4 snarky, indifferent sales assistants in a store the size of a shoebox. I went in for kids sneakers and was there forever while all the SAs (2 Black!) crowded around White customers and left me and another Black family on our own.
I finally got sneakers from a no-eye-contact woman with braids. Me: no half sizes? Maybe online? Her: shrug, never looking at me âyouâd have to look onlineâ. She gets me 2 sizes and disappears, thank god.
I didnât want to buy based on experience but needed the sneakers. Iâm checked out by a heavyset guy, zero eye contact with a nasty attitude. I dont like a store that pounces and doesn't leave you alone. This store had exactly the right amount of service. I went to buy the 1080 shoe that was recommended for my plantar fasciitis. I was served by a fellow called Jamal. Jamal was polite and had great customer service skills. He measured my feet and got me exactly what I wanted. They didnt have the colour i wanted at that store but he said they could order it in if i wanted. Now all of that service and information came from Jamal who i found out at the end was his very first day on the job. That impressed me even more and Jamal deserves a good wrap!!!!!!!! While Stuart was diligently working on my return, another sales woman (with a pink cover on her head) kept interrupting him for issues related to store closing, and he would completely re-focus on her pausing the return process, while chatting with her for an extended period of time. When that repeated twice, I politely asked him to please focus/prioritize my order - the saleswoman went on a tirade, blaming the customer and saying rude things nonstop while she was running around the store, claimed that I had arrived â10 secondsâ before the store closing time and that my request to prioritize my order was rude. However, I had actually arrived within the store operating hours (not at the closing) and my request was quiet and polite â please check the store cameras as proof for that.
