I am his patient for many years. He’s an exceptional human. Dr. Geronemus gives exceptional care every single time. I have visited him for over 20 years due to a blood vessel malformation diagnosis and other minor complications. Before this time, I had two painful treatments elsewhere and almost gave up hope. Then my mother researched his practice. The moment she spoke with him, she stated, “he is special.” I have never trusted a practitioner more with delivering the highest quality of care. His approach is methodical. The execution of treatment is always decisive and creative. He is a creative problem solver. Despite his level of talent and notoriety he is incredibly humble and has such a kind, gentle temperament/ bedside manner. He astounds me with his perseverance despite at times the antics of the medical industry at large. His continuous efforts as a scientist, practitioner have changed my life for the better. I approach my life with greater confidence, depth of character (partly due to his influence early post college years) and with joy fullness. These lasers have infiltrated the once stubborn blood vessels. Yes if one is older, it can be a lengthy process but once the vessel area has been infiltrated the permanent results in my opinion are incredible, game changing, life changing! When I was 18 I sent a dear friend to him as she had a random bump inside her cheek. She told me 6 months later “he saved my life!”. Dr. Geronemus immediately diagnosed her, sent her to the best in that niche for advanced skin cancer surgery (replacement of the removed skin) and she has been living cancer free for over 30 years since. We often bring “what’s new with Dr. G into our conversations”lol. ( He’s a great influence in both of our lives.) This is even more significant as her father passed years before from skin cancer without proper diagnosis. Years into this process I found out another one of my closest friends who went to Columbia & Harvard was working for a company to develop these lasers alongside of Dr. Geronemus and his team. I had always been too embarrassed to discuss my personal challenges. One day her professional work came up in natural dialogue and I bursted out with my gratitude and appreciation for their shared commitment to this work. That surprising experience gave me greater clarity of life. I acknowledged the expression it’s a small world..That we all have an intended purpose and how lucky we are to interact, and create something greater for the betterment of humanity together. Every year, with his sharing of knowledge and attendances at conferences, charitable treatments around the globe, he seems to come back to New York with another idea, or combination that is more effective. Dr. Geronemus is the most brilliant & professional expert in his field. My family and I are honored to call him our doctor. My daughter has been going to receive treatment from Dr. Geronemus since she was 11 months old. Now she is turning 3 years old and the result has been incredible. We were told from the beginning by Dr. Geronemus that there would be clearance on her thigh, but that the lower calf would only see 50% clearance. The port wine stain has faded considerably, and I am so grateful to Dr. Geronemus for his commitment and knowledge. We have visited more than 25 times and he personally does the treatment every time.
