My husband and I went here - we'd been looking forward to it for quite some time, because I have celiac and we had heard this had a large gluten free menu. And it did! I was ecstatic upon first seeing the menu. I have been craving Chinese for years- I used to eat take-out Chinese food often pre-celiac diagnosis.

I have never been picky about food, and usually like pretty much everything I eat in general. I can't remember the last time I had a meal I didn't like -until now. The meal I ordered from here looked delectible - a huge serving (enough for 2 people) of chicken, great color. Then I ate it - it was just bland. It wasn't disgusting, just no taste or flavor except a plain "fried" taste - Now I WAS looking for that fried, unhealthy kinda taste I had missed - but imagine a fried food with no flavor whatsoever.

My husband, who had regular gluten food, agreed - his food was super bland. They also forgot to bring him spices that he asked for, no big deal, that was corrected. What bothered me was that on his menu, it said "egg roll." no ingredients listed. We haven't had Chinese food in over a decade, we didn't know it had pork in it (yes I know that probably sounds riduculous). But imagine you haven't had Chineses food in 10+ years. My husband can't have pork, so he sent it back, asked for something else, and was reprimanded by the waitress for "not asking." Her tone was rude, she sounded very annoyed. I agreed we should ask if something has pork in the future, but also suggested she add the ingredients to the menu in the future, as many people can't have pork. (also, the gluten-free menu I had lists ingredients of meals...why not list the ingredients in all of the menus? Especially since pork is something many people simply can't have?) While I was suggesting she added ingredients to the menus to avoid this problem in the future, she cut me off and started walking away WHILE I was speaking and said "No. Can I get you something else?" Just bad service in general. We left her a small tip out of guilt, but we both felt, with her atittude, she didn't deserve one.

And my husband and I have both had diarreah for days after eating their food. I don't think it necesarily had gluten - I can't tell when I've been glutened by the way-because my husband got sick too and he has no gluten issues. I had asked for the food to be wrapped but I threw it away.

So this was just a really bad dining experience. I would never go back here and would not recommend this place to anyone. BUT I gave it 2 stars because if you have celiac, and what that fried taste AnD you want to add sauces on your own at home, maybe you can get take out and doctor it up. I know we don't have many choices. But the extremely bland food on top of the waitresses' (one waitress) attitude made our outing kind of spoil the whole day, sadly. The diarreah we've both been having for the next few days (both of us having eaten completely different meals) was just icing...

I want to caution and recommend that anyone who is thinking of going here and has sever allergies, please don't go. My boyfriend and I were so excited to find a place that has gluten free options, and thus were hopeful that they also understood other allergy issues. I have a deathly allergy to Celery and Green Beans, in addition to Celiac. After explaining this to the wait staff ,and presenting them with an allergy card that details this information, we were both beyond shocked to find a chunk of celery in my food that I had already been eating a bit. After a brief discussion with the waitstaff an manager, I had to flee the place and grab my epi pen, to treat myself due to my throat beginning to close after exposure and potentially consuming Celery. The waitstaff could care less, and kept asking my boyfriend if we 'wanted to change dishes'. He apparently did a very kind thing and paid for the other two dishes that, as far as we know, did not have celery in them before coming back to our residence and helping me call 911. After hours in the ER and treatment from the beyond wonderful EMS staff that were on call with me, I was able to go home... with large regret that we went here for a nice...

Let me start by saying I have been going to Lili and Loo for years and was satisfied. The last two times I dined there was a disaster because of the horrible service received by Samantha. She was very dismissive. After dropping our utensils on the table, she walked off without saying a word or even looking at my friend and I. She came to take our order, and didn't even let us know that we had different soup options, and had an attitude when I asked. I had to try to grab her attention as she walked by to ask for what we needed. She had an attitude when I asked for sriracha, which she never brought. I even had other waiters stepping in and helping us out after she abandoned us. She never came back to check on us, not even once. After bringing my friend's food, she walked off, didn't mention that my food is on the way or anything. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I decided to ask the nearby waitress who was kind enough to get my food for me which was just sitting there. She never even brought us water. I was very disappointed and disgusted with the service provided by Samantha. I honestly think she's in the...

My husband and I stopped in a few nights ago on our trip to NYC from Ohio. We felt bad because we rushed in to eat here soon before it closed. It was well worth our rushed subway ride over and hurried meal. The staff was kind, and the food was AMAZING for both of us. I am gluten free (out of necessity, not preference) and was able to have dumplings as well as sushi with wheat free soy sauce! The gluten free menu is huge and has a wide variety of dishes! My husband doesn't have any restrictions and got the regular General Tso's chicken, which he said was amazing. I'm adding some pictures of my food, but I had already excitedly dug into my dumplings before taking a picture. It was so refreshing to sit down and eat somewhere where I could feel normal, in spite of my dietary restrictions. I wish I could take this restaurant home with me. We will definitely be back.

We stopped in for a cold drink and an appetizer to share, we arrived shortly after 12 and the restaurantwas quiet. The gluten free menu was expansive offering most classics like fried dumplings, fried rice, sushi, sesame chicken etc. We have a great gluten free chinese spot near us, so we decided to try something that they don't offer. We tried the pan fried pork dumplings. It came with a tasty dipping sauce. The pork itself was great, but the dough on our dumplings was undercooked. Fried side was cooked fine but the opposing side was thick and chewy and was goo on the chopsticks. Sadly this is the only food item we tried. Many others have raved about this place but we probably would try somewhere else next time we are in the area. I had a Cosmo, taste was off but drink was strong and it was $10 so a deal in the city. Staff was nice and attentive.

Excellent service and amazing gluten-free options for those with food allergies! I tried the pom-teriyaki grilled chicken with veggies, my Celiac husband got General Tso's, and we shared the pan-fried potstickers. WOW, I didn't even know potstickers this soft and tender (but that actually stay together and don't fall apart) and flavorful were even possible gluten-free. They were beyond tasty, and I'd recommend them to anyone! The only downside to this restaurant at all was that the tables were really tight and the music was a bit loud, plus the people next to us were so loud we couldn't have a conversation apart from them. I understand this is pretty normal as far as spacing goes in NYC, but we were visiting from out of state and weren't prepared for the close quarters. Still, the food was worth it, and if we lived closer, we'd be back. 🥟🥢
