*See additional comments below in responding to his reaction: 1. The accident was caused by him, not me (unbelievably, he is still so unapologetic); 2. He didn't make the e-ring (it was made by a Boston jeweler whom I never even met); 3. He didn't examine the ring carefully (he didn't seem to care when that happened), but I took it to other jewelers to have it reexamined and the dent was obvious; 4. He was too busy to listen to me addressing the dissatisfaction so I left.
Original Post: Sash was too hasty to hand my e-ring back to me carefully - he dropped it on the rough tile floor, which caused an ugly dent on the setting top (luckily, the diamond didn't get chipped). I was quite upset, but I understand it was just an accident. However, he was NOT apologetic at all, even trying to blame me and saying oh you moved your hand too quickly (the fact is he was going to drop the ring into my palm from the top quickly instead of placing it in my hand carefully, which was unexpected). Not a professional act. A very unpleasant experience - I won't go back to him again. đ
*After reading Sash's comments below, I changed my rating from two to just one. âč A few facts: I did not pull my hand backwards causing the accident!!! I didn't even open my hand to "catch" the ring yet, but he dropped the ring on the floor ALREADY. Oh my goodness - his memory could be so wong - He DIDN'T make my e-ring. It was made by a Boston jeweler (my fiancĂ© now my husband gave that ring to me when he proposed), so I never even met the jeweler who made my e-ring. He did examine the ring quickly, but I took it to a couple of other jewelers to take another look - the top of the ring setting had a DENT. I did address my DISSATISFACTION, but he was just too busy to take one more look and said everything was fine with my ring, but other jewelers...
Read moreI have a tennis bracelet that needed to be resized. I was so nervous about the prospect of having to leave my jewelry at some store that I was not familiar with, especially since the piece is sentimental to me, but I luckily found Sash, whose reviews overwhelmingly stated that he was able to do most repairs/resizes on the same day, not to mention an amazing reputation for doing quality work. I called before deciding to stop by and was quoted $30-40 for the job, which I thought was a really fair price (turns out, he only charged me $20 for the resize!)
Today, I walked in to Sash's studio, he stopped what he was doing and got to work on downsizing my bracelet. It was amazing to see the craftsmanship he put into his work. He even had me try on my bracelet a couple of times before he welded it to make sure it was the right fit for me. After he resized it, he went ahead and replated my white gold bracelet in rhodium and cleaned it, so it looks even better than what it looked like when I walked in! I am so thrilled with the results, and I won't be going to any other jeweler for...
Read moreI had a really stressful experience with my new wedding band hurting me and it was completely resolved by Sash and his gem setter colleague!
The designer who made my wedding band could not understand how it could be scratching me, but it felt like needles, even when I tried it on my other hand. I have stupidly sensitive skin and this diamond pavé eternity-ish band (diamonds at five spots on the band only) was really setting me off. The maker did not really know how to fix it without melting it down, so I needed to look for a third party.
I read Sashâs reviews and saw that he did âprong work,â which I knew to be a specialized kind of fix. He not only immediately believed me that the ring was bothering me but actually showed me why: it had squared-off double prongs as well as decorative âVâ shapes. He made no promises, but had his gem setter reshape the prongs and polish down the Vs. This was more than a simple filing down; it was really strategic removal and reshaping of some of the platinum.
Et voilĂ ! I now have a band that doesnât hurt me AND a go-to...
