I have been extreme lucky to have Mr. Tim Contado as my mentor from SCORE for years! I have never met a mentor like him: So professional, so knowledgeable, so experienced, so empathic and so outstanding in all fields. He can give me a variety of suggestions, opinions and directions no matter any questions and concerns I have no and matter where they are from. I am always grateful to read those of his answers of my questions and concerns, and surprised how he are so good at so many things at such advanced levels in Marketing, Sales, Analytic, Business Operations, Conflict Resolutions... If these are only his advanced professional skills and techniques as a mentor, his personality makes him THE BEST OF THE BEST! Over the past years, he has contributed unlimited time to help me and my business deal with various kind of situations. I am not sure if my questions and concerns have exceeded his service scopes, he has never disappointed me, none of them at all! In our cultural environment, we do not have such a tradition of volunteering, nor do we have such a complete, effective mechanism with various professional talents. I currently work with four SCORE mentors! Yes, four! It's allowed. Each one comes with their own amazing super powers! As an early stage startup these industry vets gave me some of the sagest, smartest advice I've had about structuring my business project—from marketing to investment planning!

I refer to my SCORE mentors as the A-Team! Seriously. There isn't a problem, query I've presented to them that they haven't been able to help me solve! Now in terms of industry relevancy (don't let the title 'retired' fool you).

I believe that SCORE is a useful organization. They will not help you with accounting or legal issues, and will openly speak about it. As a rule of thumb, those who decide to do business are those who are educated and smart and although SCORE's advisers may not give you new knowledge, they can help at the right time to give useful advice. Pay attention to something important that may elude you. It was such an experience I had. I did not see something obvious and my adviser just pointed this out. Also, they can prompt you where to go to get the necessary information or how to build certain business processes.
