THE BEST NAIL SALON I’VE BEEN TO IN NYC!!!!!!! Wish I could give this place more than five stars, truly. They go above and beyond to make the experience luxurious, even in their very small space. Everyone on staff is so kind, and I’ve noticed the clientele is always lovely as well, which really makes this neighborhood salon feel even more like a local gem. The value is incredible. It ain’t your mama’s average pedicure. They add hot stone to the foot massage, and then end your manicure with a shoulder massage. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday they run a special—a mani/pedi for $33!!! And the service is the same no matter what day of the week you go. I’d also like to add that they are INCREDIBLE at gel removal, and ladies and gents who have had gel removal take more than 5-10 mins know how important this is. I was so happy that I found this spot because they did a wonderful and thorough job…initially. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. On day two, my nails started chipping. I had a very busy week so I didn’t stop by early to get them fixed. By the time I was able to get them fixed it was day seven and almost every nail had an issue. I called to get my nails fixed and they took me the same day which I was very happy about. I got to the nail salon and was greeted by an angry customer demanding that I put a mask on, meanwhile, I was there last week without a mask and it wasn’t an issue. I waited 15 minutes to get my nails “fixed” and they look atrocious. About three of them look like they will be completely off by tomorrow since the layer of gel is literally peeling off and they just painted over it. I used to love Sona and have such great experiences here but over the years I think that the quality has just gone down a little bit. This is my second time coming for a gel manicure this year and I thought the first time around was a fluke as the nails started peeling off from the bottom, but the same thing happened this time around. two days after getting the gel manicure, the nails just started peeling off from the bottom. It would peel about halfway off so that I would have to take it off of my nail. I’m pretty disappointed that this happened again. I paid $35 for the gel mani to get the longevity of just 2 days of having nice nails before having to remove them now. The ladies here are so nice but unfortunately the...
