As long time East Village residents, my wife and I have shopped from this Gracefully, as well as their store on 1st Ave & 18th for many years. Gracefully is an upmarket neighborhood supermarket that is expensive but carries a large variety of premium quality goods. However, after how I was treated a few days ago I will not set foot in either store again. On my way to work on Thursday, I fell and hurt my hand. I went into Gracefully (the closest nearby store) and explained that I'd hurt my hand and wanted to buy some ice. The woman at the cashier pointed at a vague direction. When I asked again, she simply gestured in the general direction and said "there". Another guy who works in Gracefully pointed me to where the ice was and stood beside me. Because my hand was bruised I was having trouble opening the container, but the guy simply stood there. I finally managed to push the lid open and took a few cubes of ice, both employees started yelling at me that I shouldn't touch the ice. My hand was really swollen by then, so I did pay. I spend abut 40-50 dollars in Gracefully every week, so roughly 2000 dollars per year. This 3.65 is the last cent I will ever spend there. We support neighborhood businesses, but what kind of neighborhood business charges 3.65 for 3...

This place is deceptively large (see pictures and videos). May I add that it is also DELICIOUS. It’s extremely convenient and fast—except during peak hours there can be a line to pay but they speed it along pretty fast. Extremely clean and staff are very friendly....
Read moreThis store is located across the street from where I work, so I really want to like it. I don't mind how expensive it is. Today I purchased a sushi roll that was labeled, SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL. The sushi-roll had the tail of a shrimp tempura sticking out of the end of the roll, but the roll itself contained artificial crab or SEA LEG, as it's called. There was no shrimp in the roll. Very deceptive and very unethical. I will never shop...
