I brought my daughter to attend the Illustration Animation: Youth Tech Workshop at the Computer Resource Center on 8/22/2017 (4-7PM). The Event Organizer along with staff members were very kind and friendly, and thereby strengthened my daughter's motivation of participation. While my daughter was learning inside the computer room, I was watching outside through the window. I found that the instructors led by Mr. H. were very enthusiastically helping students to actively engage in the hands-on work. As an example, one of the instructors even stayed after the closing hour to guide my daughter to complete her project. Generally speaking, the whole Recreation Center was well maintained and the staff (including park officers) working there were very helpful. This enjoyable experience entices me to tell Trump to divert federal budget from DOD to local Park Departments in order to enrich more human lives and further enhance humanity. It would be much better than spending tax dollars on sending battle ships to the Pacific to crash into commercial ocean liners and endanger human lives.
Update on 8/25: Since August 22, my daughter liked the workshop so much that she asked me to drive her across Hudson River everyday so she can attend the above-mentioned workshop at more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you read the reviews, they are mainly ancient⦠this review is for the rec center itself⦠it is EASILY the worst rec center out of all of them. There are so many with amenities and classes that are available to adultsā¦The Sunset Park Recreation center mainly caters to kids and itās closed off to adults most of the day while kids are in school. You arenāt allowed to use the dance room to practice in, you arenāt allowed to use the media center and now!!!! No lap swimming is allowed due to ālack of lifeguardsā.. there is an Olympic sized pool yet everyone has to be crammed into half of it where you are unable to swim without a teenager doing a cannonball onto your head. I was really looking forward to doing laps this summer .. but all weāre allowed to do in this MASSIVE pool is cram together with a bunch of kids peeing and the inability to SWIM with 18 lifeguards SURROUNDING it. I was hoping that the pool would make up for everything this rec center is lacking but it just officially made it the worst rec center. SO DISAPPOINTED after waiting through winter to finally be able to do laps again ⦠people who are doing laps generally know how to swim, how about designating one of the lifeguards to the lap area and all of the others to the cool off area? People want...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo brain cells are running this place. Bad attitudes, long lines. Multiple Workers flirting calling me "mami", "thinking I was a mom"... Do you see me holding any kids?? ....Two brain cells. Then I went to use the restroom inside while my boyfriend made it in, the female drill sargent called me and I wasn't going to be rude and ignore her. Did not allow me in. Also, I had an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the water, or perhaps the water is unsanitary.. Not worth it for me. Be prepared to be disrespectfully addressed if you are entering the pool. Dont know about the rec. Really just seems like a power trip. I don't understand why they need to close off the entire bathrooms when they have hundreds of visitors! Obviously I feel bad waiting in line when there are three families waiting to get into the TWO family changing rooms! How disgusting they expect you to urinate in the pool, otherwise you cant use the indoor toilet like a human being. It's a LAZY establishment. Also, it's very crammed, and the lifeguards do not stop whistling. If you are easily affected by overstimuli, this place is not for you. Very...
